I think you must edit this rebuttal. About the hadith...

Salaam. About this post: http://www.answering-christianity.com/sunrise_sunset_hadiths.htm

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me: “O Abû Dharr! Do you know where the Sun goes when it sets?”

I said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.”

He said: “It goes until it prostrates beneath the Throne. Then it seeks permission and permission is granted to it. Soon it will prostrate and it will not be accepted from it, and seek permission and will not be granted permission. It will be said to it: ‘Go back where you came from.’ Then it will rise from its setting place. This is Allah’s statement: ‘And the Sun runs on to its place of settlement. That is the determination of the Mighty the Knowing. [Sûrah YâSîn: 38]’.”

My message:

Prophet Muhammad (salla Allahu 'alayhi wasallam) was given limited knowledge or the knowledge that Allah willed, but he is The Messenger of Allah after all. About this hadith... In this hadith the Prophet (salla Allahu 'alayhi wasallam) is talking about the meaning of "Surah Ya Sin, ayah 38" so you can't take his opinion like if he gave an opinion about something mundane or worldly matters... This is not the case, because as I said, he is talking about the meaning of an ayah or Qur'anic verse. And when the Prophet (salla Allahu 'alayhi wasallam) talks about something related to the religion, then it is revelation too! Because he is Rasool Allah... (Salla Allahu 'alayhi wasallam), and after he explained the prostration of the Sun in the hadith he made a clear reference to ayah 38 of surah Ya Sin, saying that what he said is actually the meaning of the ayah, so the hadith is the tafsir of the ayah made by the Prophet (salla Allahu 'alayhi wasallam).

Also I'd like to add... In light of the above hadith: How can you interpretate that "ayah 38 of surah Ya Sin" means that the Sun is running or orbiting around the Galaxy? If you read the hadith it is ratter connected with the fact that the sun rises and sets in our world, and that in Yawm Al Qiyamah it will rise from the West, and the hadith also speaks about the prostration of the Sun. But again, tell me, how you can make the interpretation you made? Well, actually you are not the only one who says this... Many people is saying that "ayah 38 of surah Ya sin" means that the Sun is running around the Galaxy because of a recent discovery. Is that they didn't read the hadith...? I'd like to read your analysis of the hadith above and how you connect it with "the Sun is running around the GALAXY" interpretation. I'm a muslim also (well, muslimah) and, seriously, I'd like to read the analysis I'm proposing you.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Umm Hafsa

Rise and set of the sun is what we humans view daily. the content of hadith talks about viewing the rising of sun from the west.
Even in Bible the language used is rise and set.
“The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.” (Ecclesiastes 1:5)

In the hadith it is said if permission is not given after such daily prostration from the sun, then the sun would not appear anymore to rise from the east . It will rise from west.
What affects the sun at that time will affect the rotation of earth thus the appearance of sun rising from west.

It is mentioned in Quran 17:44  that of how celestial bodies pray/prostrate or in the case of hadith how does sun goes to underneath throne to prostrate  is a knowledge unknown for human.

As'salamu Alaikum sister UmmHafsa,

Welcome to the blog, sister.  May it be a blessing for you, Insha'Allah.

In regards to the link and the Hadith, please visit the following article for much better analysis and proofs:

http://www.answering-christianity.com/swimming_in_space_miracle.htm

Please read it, because it covers the Glorious Quran's Noble Verses on the sun orbiting and the sun running.  It also covers the Noble Verses about the earth being spherical, and traveling through space.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah

IMO, "Sun rising from the west" refers to the same people who claim to be Christians but are evil mentioned in another Hadith, the West rising to power.

It's a parable, not a literal statement. Issa (sa) or no one else ever "move(d) mountains "

Mohammed (saw) predicted 70,00 sons of (not Jacob) Isaac, Edom (Ashkenazi) Jacob (Sepharvaim), the Young Turks/Donmeh-Sabbateans, taking Constantinople by saying "No god but God..."

Donmeh false coverts are Sabbatai Zvi's followers whoven masse falsley converted in about 1666.

As'salamu Alaikum dear brothers and sister in Islam,

New Scientific Evidence from physicist, Dr. Paul LaViolette and other scientists about the earth possibly did turn upside down before, which caused it to rotate backwards, and caused the sun to rise from the West and set in the East, is given in this article:

www.answering-christianity.com/sun_rise_from_west_and_moon_gone.htm

This is about the sun will rise from the West Islamic End of Time Prophecy.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
