Taqlid of others than Rasulullah(SM): A bane to Dawah
« on: June 24, 2015, 01:49:16 AM »
Assalamu alaikum brothers,

I am starting this thread depicting a sad story.

In Japan, some people wanted to become Muslims. They went to a Muslim organization in Tokyo to accept Islam. There were two different type of Muslims, Indians who followed Hanafi majhab and Indonesians who followed Shafi'i Majhab. As we all know, every Muslim feels lucky if any disbeliever accepts Islam in his hand. But when those Japanese people went to the office, the so called muqallids(blind followers of Mujtahid  Imams) said them that following a majhab is obligatory in Islam. The Indians told them to accept Hanafi majhab and the Indonesians told them to accept Shafi'i majhab. The people who wanted to accept Islam became confused and this division among Muslims became a great bane in their path to guidance.

It is a very important thing that when we call anyone to Islam, we must call them to follow Quran and Sunnah. It is a sad thing that Muslims are divided now in the name of majhabs and they are calling the people to their own majhab instead of calling to Islam. I'll write more later.

May Allah show us the path of righteousness.

That's really a sad story. Most time people say that Madhabs are not sects, They are School of Thoughts and it's because there is different opinions of Islamic Scholars. Well if that's so than why people call themselves as Hanafi, Shafi', Malaki, Hanbali? Why don't they call themselves as Muslims? They also say 'That all Madhabs are right' So why do people have problem if a person does not follow your Madhab?

Actually people forgot the message of the Qur'an and Sunnah.

The Glorious Qur’an says:

“And hold fast, altogether, by the rope Which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves.' [Al-Qur'an 3:103]

Which is the rope of Allah that is being referred to in this verse? It is the Glorious Qur'an. The Glorious Qur’an is the rope of Allah which all Muslims should hold fast together. There is double emphasis in this verse. Beside saying ‘hold fast all together’ it also says, ‘be not divided’.

The Qur’an further says,

“Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger” [Al-Qur’an 4:59]

Mazhab differences are mostly on interpretation on the observations in Islam.
In Quran , we see the phrase observe Allah and His Messenger being emphasized. So if any of the Mazhab follows this main criteria, it shall be on the correct path.

So if there is a Mazhab that differ from the above that is only observing Allah and His Messenger.
For e.g a Mazhab add extra concept that is to place a specific saintly figure in addition to the Creator and His Messenger. Then abandon such Mazhab.
