Discrimination in Islam?
« on: September 02, 2017, 08:03:01 PM »
Came across a Hadith on an anti Islamic website. It states that the testimony of the Bedouin desert dwelling Arab was not to be taken over a townsman. This has lead to the claim that Islam is racist and discriminatory towards a particular denomination of the Arab diaspora. At first I merely presumed that it was in unauthentic Hadith as these anti Islamist websites love to use but upon closer inspection. I found that it's actually sahih.

And the same Hadith can be found in Abu Dawud
https://sunnah.com/abudawud/25/32

Could someone please explain why rasulallah saw instructed this?

Actually, there are several problems with this hadith such as,if it was completely Sahih how come it doesnt appear in the Sahih books?

If it were to be true, how come Muhammad SAW himself was also a bedouin arab?

So therefore this hadith is problematic. and it cannot be true in a logical sense,I dont see a sahaba or anyone narrating this or appearing in the chain neither.

the desert dwelling Arabs do not abide to the laws hence them being a witness against towns dwellers are not to be accepted.
