GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Regarding Aisha age.
« on: January 20, 2016, 07:42:40 AM »
IT is said that Hazrat Aisha was six years old when her nikah was performed with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Makkah, and nine years old when she moved in to live with her husband in Madina after Hijra.

This piece of misinformation has led to the wrong view that child marriage has the sanction of Islam. It must be noted that establishing the authenticity of hadiths, the narrators’ circumstances and the conditions at that time have to be correlated with historical facts. There is only one hadith by Hisham which suggests the age of Hazrat Aisha as being nine when she came to live with her husband.

Many authentic hadiths also show that Hisham’s narration is incongruous with several historical facts about the Prophet’s life, on which there is consensus. With reference to scholars such as Umar Ahmed Usmani, Hakim Niaz Ahmed and Habibur Rehman Kandhulvi, I would like to present some arguments in favour of the fact that Hazrat Aisha was at least 18 years old when her nikah was performed and at least 21 when she moved into the Prophet’s house to live with him.

According to Umar Ahmed Usmani, in Surah Al-Nisa, it is said that the guardian of the orphans should keep testing them, until they reach the age of marriage, before returning their property (4:6). From this scholars have concluded that the Quran sets a minimum age of marriage which is at least puberty. Since the approval of the girl has a legal standing, she cannot be a minor.

Hisham bin Urwah is the main narrator of this hadith. His life is divided into two periods: in 131A.H. the Madani period ended, and the Iraqi period started, when Hisham was 71 years old. Hafiz Zehbi has spoken about Hisham’s loss of memory in his later period. His students in Madina, Imam Malik and Imam Abu Hanifah, do not mention this hadith. Imam Malik and the people of Madina criticised him for his Iraqi hadiths.

All the narrators of this hadith are Iraqis who had heard it from Hisham. Allama Kandhulvi says that the words spoken in connection with Hazrat Aisha’s age were tissa ashara, meaning 19, when Hisham only heard (or remembered), tissa, meaning nine. Maulana Usmani thinks this change was purposely and maliciously made later.

Historian Ibn Ishaq in his Sirat Rasul Allah has given a list of the people who accepted Islam in the first year of the proclamation of Islam, in which Hazrat Aisha’s name is mentioned as Abu Bakr’s “little daughter Aisha”. If we accept Hisham’s calculations, she was not even born at that time.

Some time after the death of the Prophet’s first wife, Hazrat Khadija, Khawla suggested to the Prophet that he get married again, to a bikrun, referring to Hazrat Aisha (Musnad Ahmed). In Arabic bikrun is used for an unmarried girl who has crossed the age of puberty and is of marriageable age. The word cannot be used for a six-year-old girl.

Some scholars think that Hazrat Aisha was married off so early because in Arabia girls mature at an early age. But this was not a common custom of the Arabs at that time. According to Allama Kandhulvi, there is no such case on record either before or after Islam. Neither has this ever been promoted as a Sunnah of the Prophet. The Prophet married off his daughters Fatima at 21 and Ruquiyya at 23. Besides, Hazrat Abu Bakr, Aisha’s father, married off his eldest daughter Asma at the age of 26.

Hazrat Aisha narrates that she was present on the battlefield at the Battle of Badar (Muslim). This leads one to conclude that Hazrat Aisha moved into the Prophet’s house in 1 A.H. But a nine-year-old could not have been taken on a rough and risky military mission.

In 2 A.H, the Prophet refused to take boys of less than 15 years of age to the battle of Uhud. Would he have allowed a 10-year-old girl to accompany him? But Anas reported that he saw Aisha and Umme Sulaim carrying goatskins full of water and serving it to the soldiers (Bukhari). Umme Sulaim and Umme Ammara, the other women present at Uhud, were both strong, mature women whose duties were the lifting of the dead and injured, treating their wounds, carrying water in heavy goatskins, supplying ammunition and even taking up the sword.

Hazrat Aisha used the kunniat, the title derived from the name of a child, of Umme Abdullah after her nephew and adopted son. If she was six when her nikah was performed, she would have been only eight years his senior, hardly making him eligible for adoption. Also, a little girl could not have given up on ever having her own child and used an adopted child’s name for her kunniat.

Hazrat Aisha’s nephew Urwah once remarked that he was not surprised about her amazing knowledge of Islamic law, poetry and history because she was the wife of the Prophet and the daughter of Abu Bakr. If she was eight when her father migrated, when did she learn poetry and history from him?

There is consensus that Hazrat Aisha was 10 years younger than her elder sister Asma, whose age at the time of the hijrah, or migration to Madina, was about 28. It can be concluded that Hazrat Aisha was about 18 years old at migration. On her moving to the Prophet’s house, she was a young woman at 21. Hisham is the single narrator of the hadith whose authenticity is challenged, for it does not correlate with the many historical facts of the time.

Taken from http://www.dawn.com/news/696084/of-aishas-age-at-marriage

Brothers do you agree with the above points that author has given regarding the age of Aisha. The author says that Aisha age was not 6 or 9 but it was more than 19 years old. What are your views regarding it? Should we use these points to refute Islamophobia?

It is dated to the time of Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman over 1370 years ago! This is beyond incredible subhanAllah. Click the link for full news

OLDEST QURAN FOUND IN BIRMINGHAM
By BBC World News http://www.bbc.com/news/business-33436021

Radiocarbon dating found the manuscript to be at least 1,370 years old, making it among the earliest in existence. The pages of the Muslim holy text had remained unrecognised in the university library for almost a century. The British Library's expert on such manuscripts, Dr Muhammad Isa Waley, said this "exciting discovery" would make Muslims "rejoice".The manuscript had been kept with a collection of other Middle Eastern books and documents, without being identified as one of the oldest fragments of the Koran in the world.

When a PhD researcher, Alba Fedeli, looked more closely at these pages it was decided to carry out a radiocarbon dating test and the results were "startling". The university's director of special collections, Susan Worrall, said researchers had not expected "in our wildest dreams" that it would be so old. "Finding out we had one of the oldest fragments of the Koran in the whole world has been fantastically exciting." The tests, carried out by the Oxford University Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit, showed that the fragments, written on sheep or goat skin, were among the very oldest surviving texts of the Koran. These tests provide a range of dates, showing that, with a probability of more than 95%, the parchment was from between 568 and 645.

"They could well take us back to within a few years of the actual founding of Islam," said David Thomas, the university's professor of Christianity and Islam. According to Muslim tradition, the Prophet Muhammad received the revelations that form the Koran, the scripture of Islam, between the years 610 and 632, the year of his death. Prof Thomas says the dating of the Birmingham folios would mean it was quite possible that the person who had written them would have been alive at the time of the Prophet Muhammad.

"The person who actually wrote it could well have known the Prophet Muhammad. He would have seen him probably, he would maybe have heard him preach. He may have known him personally - and that really is quite a thought to conjure with," he says.

"These portions must have been in a form that is very close to the form of the Koran read today, supporting the view that the text has undergone little or no alteration and that it can be dated to a point very close to the time it was believed to be revealed."
- Professor David Thomas from Birmingham University.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / 15 Shabaan? Shab-e-Barat?
« on: June 02, 2015, 09:01:27 AM »
Most of the Muslims in South East Region or you can say "Sub Continent Muslim" celebrate Shab-e-Barat and people recite Quran, fast and worship all day. People say It is "Blessed Night"

Is their any proof for this? in Hadith or Quran?or it is a made up thing in our religion?

Assalam Alaykum Brothers,

I am doing a lot of research on "Are Women defiency in intelligence and religion" and "Why Two Women Witness is equal to one man". Have read a lot of articles but i don't know why i can't understand.

http://www.answering-christianity.com/karim/women_not_deficient_in_intelligence_and_religion.htm
http://www.letmeturnthetables.com/2009/06/why-hadith-says-that-women-are.html

These articles say that there is no deficiency in women and man and women are equal.  But also at the same time it says that Women are not good in Science and Mathematics and women are more emotional than man. ( especially the second link)  Is their any Scientific evidence that women are more emotional? Because the critics always say me that it's not and their have been many great women in History. Even in my School most of the position Holders are sisters. Also why one man witness is equal to two women? So i am really confused and will wait for your answer.

Your Brother,
Uzair Ahmed

I Hope the English subtitles are not confusing like "wajib" , "farz" , "sunnat". I think they are Arabic words and you guys will understand so check this video out.

This is sufficient proof for those Islamophobia who say that ISIS , Taliban are TRUE followers of ISLAM.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Scientific Errors in Quran
« on: February 17, 2015, 12:02:59 PM »
I made this topic so here we can discuss the things which critics bring so called "Scientific errors in Quran". It's hard to find any rebuttal or an article in this site (answering-christianity.com) which refutes the claim made by critics that Quran contain Scientific errors. From time to time when everything will be cleared. I will post things on my website.

CRITICS QUOTE = RED QUOTE

# Problem 1 / Does Sun revolves around Earth ?

Critics claim that, Sun revolves around the earth and there is no verse which claims that earth revolves around the sun, They bring the verse

Quote
"It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. THEY FLOAT EACH IN AN ORBIT."  Qur'an 36:40

"And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They float, each in an orbit." Qur'an 21:33

Faique Mushtaq you're so naive. Read the Quran.
It says earth is flat.
Sky is like a dome (tent).
Sky can fall down on people.
Seven Heavens.
Sky can be rolled up.
and many other absurdities.

How should i refute this? Please help, also please read the passage below by Islamic Research Foundation ( Dr Zakir Naik ) which can be found here http://sunnahonline.com/library/the-majestic-quran/430-quran-and-modern-science-compatible-or-incompatible-the

Quote
For a long time European philosophers and scientists believed that the earth stood still in the center of the universe and every other body including the sun moved around it. In the West, this geocentric concept of the universe was prevalent right from the time of Ptolemy in the second century BC. In 1512, Nicholas Copernicus put forward his Heliocentric Theory of Planetary Motion, which asserted that the sun is motionless at the centre of the solar system with the planets revolving around it.

In 1609, the German scientist Yohannus Keppler published the 'Astronomia Nova'. In this he concluded that not only do the planets move in elliptical orbits around the sun, they also rotate upon their axes at irregular speeds. With this knowledge it became possible for European scientists to explain correctly many of the mechanisms of the solar system including the sequence of night and day.

After these discoveries, it was thought that the Sun was stationary and did not rotate about its axis like the Earth. I remember having studied this fallacy from Geography books during my school days. Consider the following Qur'anic verse: "It is He Who created The Night and the Day, And the sun and the moon: All (the celestial bodies) Swim along, each in its Rounded course." [Al-Qur'an 21:33]

The Arabic word used in the above verse is yasbahun . The word yasbahun is derived from the word sabaha. It carries with it the idea of motion that comes from any moving body. If you use the word for a man on the ground, it would not mean that he is rolling but would mean he is walking or running. If you use the word for a man in water it would not mean that he is floating but would mean that he is swimming.

Similarly, if you use the word yasbah for a celestial body such as the sun it would not mean that it is only flying through space but would mean that it is also rotating as it goes through space. Most of the school textbooks have incorporated the fact that the sun rotates about its axis. The rotation of the sun about its own axis can be proved with the help of an equipment that projects the image of the sun on the table top so that one can examine the image of the sun without being blinded. It is noticed that the sun has spots which complete a circular motion once every 25 days i.e. the sun takes approximately 25 days to rotate around its axis.

In fact, the sun travels through space at roughly 150 miles per second, and takes about 200 million years to complete one revolution around the center of our Milky Way Galaxy.

"It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law)." [Al-Qur'an 36:40]

This verse mentions an essential fact discovered by modern astronomy, i.e. the existence of the individual orbits of the Sun and the Moon, and their journey through space with their own motion. The 'fixed place' towards, which the sun travels, carrying with it the solar system, has been located exactly by modern astronomy. It has been given a name, the Solar Apex. The solar system is indeed moving in space towards a point situated in the constellation of Hercules (alpha Layer) whose exact location is firmly established.

The moon rotates around its axis in the same duration that it takes to revolve around the earth. It takes approximately 29½ days to complete one rotation. One cannot help but be amazed at the scientific accuracy of the Qur'anic verses. Should we not ponder over the question: "What was the source of knowledge contained in the Qur'an?"

I can't understand the paragraph above by Islamic Research foundation so can i send this paragraph to critic? is this reliable? Does it refute ?

Waiting for answer,
Brother Uzair Ahmed.

original post on my website http://calltotruth.weebly.com/misconceptions/islam-and-freedom-of-speech and give your opinions in this thread. Also if you found any mistake or you would like to add me something in the article then please feel free to post here and tell me. ;)

Quote
From the point of view of Islam, Allah (God) Almighty created humans as free beings. This idea of human freedom certainly includes freedom of choice and freedom of speech. At the same time, Islam holds humans as responsible beings as well. Every thinking person can see that responsibility is just the other side of freedom. This responsibility before God is meant for all practical purposes to be our responsibility towards the society, or to our fellow beings, as it were.

Indeed, Islam visualizes the realization of a model society in space and time, for the creation of which, each individual needs to sacrifice a portion of their freedom. It has always been a problem in human history, as to how to balance between individual freedom and social control. In all the socio-political systems of the past, as well as of modern times, we see how the state, "a self-governing political entity" imposes restrictions on the freedom of the individuals through the exercise of power (Rosenberg). The apparent objective of such restrictions is the general welfare of the citizens of the state. Rousseau has written about a certain loss of freedom to natural man, consequent upon the gradual emergence of society through history. For him, natural freedom is in fact slavery to individual passions. To set aside individual freedom and accept the general will is to accept a higher moral order.

In other words, the freedom of natural man is a sort of lawless freedom. In order to make the freedom of each compatible with the freedom of all, there should be societal control, through serving our interest in justice.
When there is a conflict of different interests, some can prevail only at the expense of others. In the present context, the conflict is between the individual's interest in unbridled freedom for himself and the society's interest in safeguarding the general freedom of the society as a whole. This indicates the necessity of a proper balance between individual freedom and social control for the welfare of all.

In short, the rights of each individual are limited by the rights of others. These rights do not merely include freedom of speech, but equally the basic right to dignity, privacy and respect, and the basic right not to be subjected to degrading or inhuman treatment. The foregoing means that the idea of absolute freedom of speech, often hypocritically touted by the Islam-bashers, is absurd and untenable. We have a number of examples from the so-called "civilized world" itself to prove the point.

Take the question of anti-Semitism for  example. Any person who ventures to question the claims of the "Holocaust Industry" is subject to prosecution in the western countries, where, it is claimed, freedom of speech is allowed to all its citizens.

Prof. Norman G. Finkelstein of City University of New York wrote:

Indeed, the Holocaust has proven to be an indispensable ideological weapon. Through its deployment, one of the world's most formidable military powers, with  horrendous human rights record, has cast itself as a "victim" state, and the most successful ethnic group in the United States has likewise acquired victim status. Considerable benefits accrue to this specious victimhood — in particular — immunity to criticism, however justified (3).

So where is the freedom of speech now? Which Bigoted and racist Islamophobia claim when they attack Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) ?

Freedom of speech does not mean the freedom to defame or malign a prophet. If it were not so, why did the Dutch newspaper, Jyllands-Posten, that published the notorious "Prophet cartoons" in September 2005, refuse to run drawings lampooning Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), submitted by Christoffer Zieler in April, 2003? (Gwaldys)

Charlie Hebdo claim that its "Freedom of Speech" when they malign Prophet but when it comes to anti-Semitism, it is not? The hypocrisy of Charlie Hebdo when it comes to free speech must also be pointed out. It fired one of its cartoonists for the offense of anti-Semitism because it mocked a former French president’s son who converted to Judaism, as NBC reporter Ayman Mohyeldin wrote,

Hebdo fired one of its cartoonists and accused him of anti-semitism because he mocked the son of a former living French President who converted to Judiasm. Why is mocking a living person anti-Semitic hate speech but mocking sacred religious figures not? Who decides what is anti-Semitic and who decides what is Islamophobic?

So where was the freedom of Speech? Which bigoted Islamophobia claim during the Charlie Hebdo attack on 2015? Why there is so Double standards?  Also why France banned Pro-Palestinian rallies during the massacre in Gaza? We clearly see these double standards on Freedom of Speech by racist and bigoted Islamophobia. Does "Freedom of Speech" only applies to Muslims like the word "Terrorist" ?

Pope Francis on Charlie Hebdo said that Freedom of Expressions has some limits and you can't insult the faith of others - (  as Reported by Huffington Post

In simple language if someone someone abuses Judaism he is not allowed to do so and is charged for Anti-Semitism. But if someone abuses Islam then it's "Freedom of Speech" ? This is a clear injustice.

THE AGE OF IGNORANCE

ANCIENT RELIGIONS:

After the Prophet of AllahIsa ibn Maryam (a.s), there was a long period without a Prophet. Light and knowledge disappeared. Christianity fell into disrepute and became a matter of sport for the corrupt and the hypocrites. From the very beginning, Christianity had been subjected to alterations by extremists and to interpretations by the ignorant. The simple teaching of the Messiah was buried beneath the transgressors' evil behaviour.

The Jews had become a society obsessed with rites and rules lacking all life and spirit. Apart from that, Judaism a tribal religion, did not carry a message to the world nor a summons to other nations nor mercy to humanity at large.

The Magians were devoted to fire-worship. They built altars and shrines to fire. Outside the shrines they followed their own pursuits. Eventually, no difference whatever could be discerned between the Magians and those with no religion or morality.

Buddhism, a religion widespread in India and Central Asia, was transformed into outright paganism. Altars were built and images of the Buddha set up wherever it went.

Hinduism, the basic religion of India, is distinguished by its millions of idols and gods, and by the unjust separation that exists between its castes, discrimination between the castes being a harsh reality of daily life.

The Arabs also suffered from a paganism and idol-worship of the most abhorrent kind that had no parallel, even in pagan Hindu India. They were involved in shirk and adopted gods other than Allah. Every tribe, region or city had a particular idol. Indeed, every house had a private idol. Inside the Ka'bah, the house which Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had built for the worship of Allah alone, and in its courtyard, stood three hundred and sixty idols.

THE ARABIAN PENINSULA:

The morals of the Arabs were corrupted and they were obsessed with drinking and gambling. Their cruelty and so-called zeal reached the point where they buried baby girls alive. Raiding was widespread as well as highway robbery against trading caravans. The position of women in society was so low that they could be inherited like property or animals. Children were murdered because their parents feared the poverty that would come from raising them. The Arabs were fond of war and did not hesitate to shed blood. A minor incident could stir up a war lasting for many years in which thousands of people would lose their lives.

CORRUPTION:

In short, at this time, mankind was on a suicidal course. Man had forgotten his Creator and was oblivious of himself, his future, and his destiny. He had lost the ability to distinguish between good and evil, and what is beautiful and what is ugly. Throughout vast regions no one was concerned with religion at all and no one worshipped his Lord without associating something with Him. Allah Almighty spoke the truth when He said: 'Corruption has appeared in the land and sea through what the hands of People have earned, that He may let them taste some part of that which they have done, that perhaps they will return.' (30:41)

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Pharaoh Body embalmed?
« on: November 17, 2014, 09:52:26 AM »
Quote
the Egyptians embalmed ALL their Pharoahs, not just Menerptah. Therefore, there was nothing unique about him being "saved in body" because ALL Pharoahs were "saved in body". That disqualifies what Muhammad said about him as being a "prophecy." It was known all over the Middle East that ancient Egyptians excelled in the art of embalming/mummification. Muhammad just stated an interesting fact about mummies.

The Christian missionary is claiming that the "Miracle of Pharaoh" is not a miracle that his body was saved because Egyptians were masters in embalming the dead and all the bodies were saved not just Remesis II ( or the Pharaoh which Quran mentions ) He also says that it is possible that Muhammad went to Egypt since he was a trader and learned about that the Egyptians were masters in embalming so he just added in his book.

1) Once a person asked him to invoke cure, he said: I have not been sent to curse, but I have been sent as a mercy unto the worlds. Once he was returning from the battle. He passed by a plain. The sun was hot and the people were resting under the shades of the trees. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to sleep under the shade of a tree hanging his sword to a branch. A bedouin came there and took off his sword intending to kill him (the Holy Prophet). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was startled to see a bedouin standing on the side of his head with an unsheathed sword in his hand. He (the bedouin) said: Tell me, who can save you now from me? He said: (It is) Allah. This impressive reply had its effect and he put the sword back into its sheath.

2) He forgave Hinda, the wife of Abu Sufyan who tore out the heart and liver of his (the Holy Prophet's) loving uncle.

3) He forgave Habbar b. Al. Aswar who had inflicted severe injury to the Prophet's loving daughter Zainab (May Allah be pleased with her).

4) During the Treaty of Hudaibya, a band of sixty men descended the mount of Tanim at dawn, with an intention to kill he Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). They were arrested; but the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) let them off.

5) A person intended to kill him. The companions of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) caught hold of him and brought him to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He trembled out of fear. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him : Do not be afraid, even if you intended to kill me, you could not do so.

6) The people of Ta'if hooted him through the streets listening to the call of Islam and refused to give him shelter. They pelted him with stones and blood flowed down upon his legs. The angel said to him: If he desired we cause the mountain to fall upon them. He said: No, perhaps any believer of Allah may be born from their progeny.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / We have no control?
« on: October 06, 2014, 11:18:38 AM »
This Question is asked by a non-muslim.
Quote
Hudhaifa b. Usaid reported directly from Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) that lie said: When the drop of (semen) remains in the womb for forty or fifty (days) or forty nights, the angel comes and says: My Lord, will he be good or evil? And both these things would be written. Then the angel says: My Lord, would he be male or female? And both these things are written. And his deeds and actions, his death, his livelihood; these are also recorded. Then his document of destiny is rolled and there is no, addition to and subtraction from it.

[Muslim- Book 33:6392]
Sooooo... It has already been predetermined whether you will be good or evil and what kind of actions you will commit in your life. Sounds like an iron-clad document to me. According to this view, we really have no control over our lives and we cannot make any real choices- for how can we make choices when everything has already been predetermined? This then begs the question: is Allah really Just?

How can He be Just and throw people in Hell, when He was the one who decided what his Creation would do in the first place?! It's like programming a robot: if you program it to kill, maim, and attack: how can you punish it for doing exactly what it was programmed to do?!

Honestly, I can't see ANY logic in this. IS THERE ANYBODY who is willing to talk straight and not resort to doing mental gymnastics to explain this?

So can anyone answer this?

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Marriage with People of the Book.
« on: September 04, 2014, 12:03:06 PM »
Quote
It is permissible for a Muslim man to marry a woman from the People of the Book (i.e. the Jews and the Christians), only if they fulfill certain criteria. Allah (swt) says:

“And (Lawful in marriage are) chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you…”

[Surah Al-Maidah 5:5]

Based on the above verse, most of the scholars say that a Muslim man can marry any woman who is a Jew or a Christian. On the other hand, if we read the Qur’an as a whole, Allah (swt) also says that Muslims are not allowed to marry Mushriks i.e. people who associate partners with Allah (swt).

“And do not marry Mushrik (polytheistic) women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you.”

[Surah Al-Baqarah 2:221]

Moreover, we find that the Jews and the Christians too associate partners with Allah (swt). Says Allah (swt) in the Glorious Qur’an:

“They (Jews and the Christians) have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allah, and (also) the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.” [Surah At-Tawbah 9:31]

The Christians, who claim that Jesus (pbuh) is God as well as the Son of God, insist on the supposed divinity of Jesus (pbuh) and worship him as such.

“They have certainly disbelieved who say, “Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary” while the Messiah has said, “O children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.” Indeed he who associates other with Allah – Allah has forbidden him paradise and his refuge is the fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.” [Surah Al-Maidah 5:72]

From the above-mentioned verses and many such verses of the Qur'an, it is very clear that almost all the present day Jews and the Christians are committing shirk by joining partners with Allah (swt).

Apparently, it appears to be a “contradiction” in the Qur’an, since at one place Allah (swt) forbids Muslims from marrying Mushriks, whereas at another place He allows Muslim men to marry women from the Jews and the Christians, most of who as per the Qur'anic narrations are Mushriks too i.e. those who associate partners with Allah (swt).

In another verse of the Glorious Qur’an, Allah (swt) conciliates all the above verses by informing us that among the Jews and the Christians there are also people who are true believers i.e. they believe in only one God and do not associate partners with Allah (swt). It says,

“Among them (Jews and the Christians) are believers but most of them are defiantly disobedient.” [Surah Ali Imran 3:110]

Therefore, according to me, Muslim men are permitted to marry only those women from the People of the Book (i.e. the Jews and the Christians) who are chaste as well as who do not commit shirk i.e. those who do not believe in trinity and Jesus’ (pbuh) divinity. And Allah Knows the Best.

Do you agree with Dr.Zakir Naik? The Topic is very hard and confusing :3
