Post by: MuslimBoy on April 10, 2014, 05:43:02 AM
As-Salam Aalekum Everone
Did there is anyway to convince Quranists/Hadith Rejectors.
I am it because i have a lot friends who are Quranists.
And they believe that we have only 4/5 rakah in every Namaz. moreover they say that kissing of Black stone is indeed a corruption of hadeeth. did they are right?

Thanks for replying brother, first of all the spelling is authentic and Yes, Quranists/Ahl-E-Quran/Hadith Rejector is a sect just like akhi mclinkin94 they dont believe in hadiths. They even say ALL Namaz only contain 4 or sometimes 5 Rakahs. and i had tried your suggested method but due to thier EGO it wont work.

I have been caled a Quranist person, but i follow the hadiths that are in line with the Quran, and believe me there are not many that do. I follow the Quran as all our pillars and practices are mentioned in the Quran.
If you put hadiths next to the Quran about anyone subject, you will find much differences. As the scholars do not check hadiths out as to their content, rather they just check the line of authentication, line of transmission. All well and good, but it truly is the content of the hadiths that surely must be in line with the Quran to be classed as Sahih, or authentic.
Also you will find the history behind the hadiths one of a stunning revelation if you were to research. Also if you looked at the hadiths themselves, rather than just quoting, or just believing what you are told, you would be in for another suprise.
Please do some checking out for yourself....choose a subject, lets say Prayer, salat, go look to haiths on the salat, then look to Quran, you will find much difference. #Also there is the actual understanding and translation of the Quran is at odds with most scholars. .....salat is and has been only ever 2 rakats for every prayer, and 1 rakat for the fear, battle prayer.........

And we have bestowed upon thee the Seven of the Pairs and of the Grand Quran 15;87

This verse above, the seven pairs means the surah Al Fatiha, having 7 lines, repeated twice in each prayer, surmounting to 2 rakats per prayer......if you want to learn the full prayer as ordained by the Quran, then check it out here.......And we have .http://sunnahhealthandfitness.blogspot.com/p/salat-virtues-of.html.....

Also you will find the ablution act in the Quran is different to the hadith, which includes the Quranic way with added innovations to it.

The duty of the messenger is only to convey (the message). Allah knoweth what ye proclaim and what ye hide. 5:99

NO DISTINCTION
Lo! those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers, and seek to make distinction between Allah and His messengers, and say: We believe in some and disbelieve in others, and seek to choose a way in between;  Such are disbelievers in truth; and for disbelievers We prepare a shameful doom.  But those who believe in Allah and His messengers and make no distinction between any of them, unto them Allah will give their wages; and Allah was ever Forgiving, Merciful. ...... 150- 152

Meaning, do not magnify Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him and his family, above any other prophet or put him alongside Allah.

HADITH
"These are God's revelations (Quran) that We recite to you truthfully. In which hadith other than God and His revelations do they believe?" 45:6
(also 7:185, 77:50 and 31:6).

TRUTH
"Shall I seek other than God as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the scripture recognise that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbour any doubt. The word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient." 6:114-115

WARNER
Say: For myself I have no power to benefit, nor power to hurt, save that which Allah willeth. Had I knowledge of the Unseen, I should have abundance of wealth, and adversity would not touch me. I am but  a warner, and a bearer of good tidings unto folk who believe. S. 7:188

SEAL
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Apostle of God, and the Seal of the Prophets: and God has full knowledge of all things. S. 33:40

FABRICATIONS
"This is to let the minds of those who do not believe in the Hereafter listen to such fabrications, and accept them, and thus expose their real convictions." 6:113

QURAN
Ibn Saeed Al-Khudry reported that the messenger of God had said,
"Do not write anything from me except Quran. Anyone who wrote anything other than the Quran shall erase it." [Ahmed, Vol. 1, Page 171, and Sahih Moslim, Zuhd, Book 42, Number 7147]

Worsd of warning, the Jews have been very crafty and have made muslims become as the Jews and Chrsistians themselves by worshiping partners besides Allah, by the very fact that Muhammads name, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, is mention in prayer with Allahs, as the shahada, as you think it to be.!!!....but this is subtle trickery to worship another in prayer by the mere mentioning and praising of another name along side Allahs......taking partners with Allah.......Please people wake up and think about it. Say your shahadah any other time, but not in prayer when this is soley for Allah only.

(This lamp is found) in houses which Allah hath allowed to be exalted and that His name shall be remembered therein. Therein do offer praise to Him at morn and evening. 24;36

Sunnah or Hadith

Islam, the Arabic word Sunnah has come to denote the way Prophet Muhammad (S), the Messenger of Allah, lived his life. The Sunnah is the second source of Islamic jurisprudence, the first being the Qur’an. Both sources are indispensable; one cannot practice Islam without consulting both of them. The Arabic word hadith (pl. ahadith) is very similar to Sunnah, but not identical. A hadith is a narration about the life of the Prophet (S) or what he approved - as opposed to his life itself, which is the Sunnah as already mentioned.
In M. M. Azami's Studies in Hadith Methodology and Literature, the following precise definition of a hadith is given,

According to Muhaddithiin [scholars of hadith -ed.] it stands for 'what was transmitted on the authority of the Prophet, his deeds, sayings, tacit approval, or description of his sifaat (features) meaning his physical appearance. However, physical appearance of the Prophet is not included in the definition used by the jurists.'

Thus hadith literature means the literature, which consists of the narrations of the life of the Prophet and the things approved by him. However, the term was used sometimes in much broader sense to cover the narrations about the Companions [of the Prophet -ed.] and Successors [to the Companions -ed.] as well.

The explosion of Islam in the 7th and 8th centuries confronted Islamic scholars with a daunting task: to preserve the knowledge of the Sunnah of the Prophet (S). Hence the science of hadith evaluation was born.

The promise of Allah

The promise made by Allah (SWT) in Qur'an 15:9 is obviously fulfilled in the undisputed purity of the Qur'anic text throughout the fourteen centuries since its revelation. However, what is often forgotten by many Muslims is that the divine promise also includes, by necessity, the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH), because the Sunnah is the practical example of the implementation of the Qur'anic guidance, the wisdom taught to the Prophet (PBUH) along with the scripture, and neither the Qur'an nor the Sunnah can be understood correctly without the other.

Allah (SWT) preserved the Sunnah by enabling the companions and those after them to memorize, write down and pass on the statements of the Prophet (PBUH), and the descriptions of his way, as well as to continue the blessings of practicing the Sunnah.

Later, as the purity of the knowledge of the Sunnah became threatened, Allah (SWT) caused the Muslim Ummah to produce individuals with exceptional memory skills and analytical expertise, who travelled tirelessly to collect thousands of narrations and distinguish the true words of prophetic wisdom from those corrupted by weak memories, from forgeries by unscrupulous liars, and from the statements of the large number of Ulama (scholars), the companions and those who followed their way. All of this was achieved through precise attention to the words narrated, and detailed familiarity with the biographies of the thousands of reporters of hadith.

The methodology of the expert scholars of hadith in assessing the narrations and sorting out the genuine from the mistaken and fabricated, for ms the subject matter of the science of hadith. In this article a brief discussion is given of the terminology and classifications of hadith.

Components of Hadith
A hadith is composed of three parts (see the figure [below]):

Matn (text), isnad (chain of reporters), and taraf (the part, or the beginning sentence, of the text which refers to the sayings, actions or characteristics of the Prophet (PBUH), or his concurrence with others action). The authenticity of the hadith depends on the reliability of its reporters, and the linkage among them.

Classifications of Hadith

A number of classifications of hadith have been made. Five of these classifications are shown in the figure [below], and are briefly described subsequently.

1)According to the reference to a particular authority

Four types of hadith can be identified.
Qudsi - Divine; a revelation from Allah (SWT); relayed with the words of the Prophet (PBUH).
Marfu - elevated; a narration from the Prophet (PBUH), e.g. I heard the Prophet (PBUH) saying ...
Mauquf- stopped: a narration from a companion only, e.g., we were commanded to ...
Maqtu' - severed: a narration from a successor

It invites his attention to the history of those who purchased the punishment of Hell in exchange for the comforts of this world. It tells him of those who were granted the entry into Paradise for having led a life of purity.

Briefly put, the Qur'an prepares man for attaining salvation both in this world and the next through obedience to the Divine commandments.

2)According to the links of Isnad - interrupted or uninterrupted

Six categories can be identified.
Musnad - supported: a hadith which is reported by a traditionalist, based on what he learned from his teacher at a time of life suitable for learning; similarly - in turn - for each teacher until the isnad reaches a well known companion, who in turn, reports from the Prophet (PBUH).
Mutassil - continuous: a hadith with an uninterrupted isnad which goes back only to a companion or successor.
Mursal - hurried: if the link between the successor and the Prophet (PBUH) is missing, e.g. when a successor says "The Prophet said...".
Munqati - broken: is a hadith whose link anywhere before the successor (i.e., closer to the traditionalist recording the hadith) is missing.
Mu'adal - perplexing: is a hadith whose reporter omits two or more consecutive reporters in the isnad.
Mu'allaq - hanging: is a hadith whose reporter omits the whole isnad and quotes the Prophet (PBUH) directly (i.e., the link is missing at the beginning).

3)According to the number of reporters involved in each stage of Isnad

Five categories of hadith can be identified:
Mutawatir - Consecutive: is a hadith which is reported by such a large number of people that they cannot be expected to agree upon a lie, all of them together.
Ahad - isolated: is a hadith which is narrated by people whose number does not reach that of the mutawatir.
It is further classified into:
Mash'hur - famous: hadith reported by more than two reporters.
Aziz - rare, strong: at any stage in the isnad, only two reporters are found to narrate the hadith.
Gharib - strange: At some stage of the Isnad, only one reporter is found relating it.

4)According to the nature of the text and isnad

Munkar - denounced: is a hadith which is reported by a weak narrator, and whose narration goes against another authentic hadith.
Mudraj - interpolated: an addition by a reporter to the text of the hadith being narrated.

5)According to the reliability and memory of the reporters

This provides the final verdict on a hadith - four categories can be identified:
Sahih - sound. Imam Al-shafi'i states the following requiremetts for a hadith, which is not mutawatir, to be acceptable "each reporter should be trustworthy in his religion; he should be known to be truthtul in his narrating, to understand what he narrates, to know how a different expression can alter the meaning, and to report the wording of the hadith verbatim, not only its meaning".
Hasan - good: is the one where its source is known and its reporters are unambiguous.
Da'if - weak: a hadith which fails to reach the status of hasan. Usually, the weakness is: a) one of discontinuity in the isnad, in which case the hadith could be - according to the nature of the discontinuity - munqati (broken), mu'allaq (hanging), mu'dal (perplexing), or mursal (hurried), or b) one of the reporters having a disparaged character, such as due to his telling lies, excessive mistakes, opposition to the narration of more reliable sources, involvement in innovation, or ambiguity surrounding his person.
Maudu' - fabricated or forged: is a hadith whose text goes against the established norms of the Prophet's sayings, or its reporters include a liar. Fabricated hadith are also recognized by external evidence related to a discrepancy found in the dates or times of a particular incident.

The summary of hadiths by shabeer_hassan is all well and good. But in the Quran where there are many verses pertaining to the protection and guarding of the Quran....only apply to the Quran.....NOT TO HADITHS.......you are sadly mistaken.
The hadiths are mans own words and and are susceptible to corruption, as mentioned in the Quran.
Do you not read the Quran......it states to follow the Quran rather than the hadiths of other sources....which do you then believe ???...can you not see with your eyes or heart as to the truth.???

The hadiths are corrupted beyond belief, and so much so they have corrupted the faith of Islam,,,way way off the the true practices.......

Has anyone checked the haiths for the salat yet.....You will not find the prayer formular nor the amount of rakats...other than 2 rakats.....
Has anyone found a hadith that states zakat is payable at 2.5 %.....this is pure fabrication. zakat is 10% of your weekly wage....its that simple.

Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family never wanted his life studied and recorded because he knew it would be taken as a rule of law above that of the Quran.....he only would allow any hadith that was to do with the Quran to be writen down.......
All preceding scholars were told to burn the hadiths and struggled within themselves to do this,,,,,and some didnt......and have the hadiths that have been corrupted by the Jews to this very day passed down to us to follow and believe and be so utterly deceived and blinded by....that we all trun away from the Quran.

DO YOU READ THE QURAN ??????....DOES ANYONE ...????
If you did, you would realise the hadiths are fabricated and your practices of salat, ablution, fasting, zakat are all innovations and that you are taking partners with Allah.......

the problem Yaz is that all Islamic nations practise Islam with explanations from hadiths
. The one that came up with ideas of hadith not to be used as supports to interpret Quran are from selective individuals and not Islamic nations.

These individuals might have find the content of hadith contradicting their way of life as they try to fit their lifestyle in West. Thus for them, they must reject hadith that cant be relate to verses in Quran or to not make things worse for them, they reject hadith entirely.

Brothers and Sisters,

This is very dangerous... Are we witnessing the rise of yet another sect? that is the last thing we need now... Another infiltration.. as if we don't have enough hypocrites masquerading as real Muslims.

My wife and I we take religious lessons once every week, with a great Sheikh, here in Lebanon.

He is a walking Islamic Encyclopedia, may Allah increase his reward. We did touch on this subject once. I do understand people's skepticism... we live in dangerous times.. the worst in my opinion and i fear it is only going downhill for us Muslims.. Yet we cannot just dismiss EVERY single hadeeth..

Our Sheikh told us that he only relates to us Hadeeths that have a very strong reference.. Weak Hadeeths will not be considered.

So this is my take on it... I trust our Sheikh. Whatever he recites and whatever he deems trustworthy, so do I.

Keep in mind, that i have no doubt that SOOO many Hadeeths have been forged and manufactured throughout the ages...

I think we should approach this subject carefully..

Moreover brothers and sisters, this is my one of my most beloved Hadeeths (Hadeeth Qudsi), narrated by Sheikh Mohammad Shaarawy, may God have mercy on him:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puUBTeXpSGw

Can you brothers and sisters give me your take on it?

that's what should all muslims think like, it's not black or white, Many hadiths are Forgeries, many hadiths are true, leave the first and take the latter, the Quranists are missing this very important point.

Hadiths are two types valid/invalid,we must agreed/accept all valid hadith ,whether it match with quranic law or not,plz don't measure hadith with our logic,we r human being we can't understand the matters beyond our limit, time & space...there r four types of ppl around us..
1)Hadith reject's :they r not believers.....
2)partially believers:they believe hadith with their logic, for ex) if we says "jin eat animal dung " they r not believe it.......
3)hadith creators:some Orthodox Muslim leaders making illegal story about prophets & Islam & publish it to people, and say its from islamic hadith, they ever give/importance validity of hadith, they r blindly believers.,grave worshipers r belongs to this group .....
4)true believers:they believe all valid hadith & reject invalid hadith........

one advice to hadith rejects's : quran says believers u salath to allha.....how can we do it? quran not says about it,so   how can we do it? Hadith r telling to us ,is it? 75% Islamic activities we did it based on hadith,so don't avoid the valid hadith......

PROPHET MUHAMMAD [SA] BEING TRUSTFUL PROPHET
48: 29. Muhammad (SAW) is the Messenger of Allâh…………..
4: 64. We sent no Messenger, but to be obeyed by Allâh's Leave.
13: 37. And thus have We sent it (the Qur'ân) down to be a judgement of authority in Arabic. Were you (O Muhammad SAW) to follow their (vain) desires after the knowledge which has come to you, then you will not have any Walî (protector) or defender against Allâh.
13: 38. And indeed We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad SAW), and made for them wives and offspring. And it was not for a Messenger to bring a sign except by Allâh's Leave. (For) each and every matter there is a Decree (from Allâh).

46: 8. Or say they: "He (Muhammad SAW) has fabricated it." Say: "If I have fabricated it, still you have no power to support me against Allâh. He knows best of what you say among yourselves concerning it (i.e. this Qur'ân)! Sufficient is He for a witness between me and you! And He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful."
 9. Say (O Muhammad SAW):"I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allâh) (i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner."
10. Say: "Tell me! If this (Qur'ân) is from Allâh, and you deny it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel ('Abdullâh bin Salâm )testifies that this Qur'ân is from Allâh [like the Taurât (Torah)], so he believed (embraced Islâm) while you are too proud (to believe)." Verily! Allâh guides not the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doing).
10: 15. And when Our Clear Verses are recited unto them, those who hope not for their meeting with Us, say: Bring us a Qur'ân other than this, or change it."Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It is not for me to change it on my own accord; I only follow that which is revealed unto me. Verily, I fear if I were to disobey my Lord, the torment of the Great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."

A Muslim must believing Ghaib (unseen):

2: 3. Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakât , spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allâh's Cause - Jihâd, etc.].
3: 44. This is a part of the news of the Ghaib (unseen, i.e. the news of the past nations of which you have no knowledge) which We inspire you with (O Muhammad SAW). You were not with them, when they cast lots with their pens as to which of them should be charged with the care of Maryam (Mary); nor were you with them when they disputed.

Allah only know the Ghaib (unseen)

6: 59. And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He. And He knows whatever there is in (or on) the earth and in the sea; not a leaf falls, but he knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record.
11: 123. And to Allâh belongs the Ghaib (unseen) of the heavens and the earth, and to Him return all affairs (for decision). So worship Him (O Muhammad SAW) and put your trust in Him. And your Lord is not unaware of what you (people) do."
27: 65. Say: "None in the heavens and the earth knows the Ghaib (unseen) except Allâh, nor can they perceive when they shall be resurrected."
34: 48. Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily! My Lord sends down Inspiration and makes apparent the truth (i.e. this Revelation that had come to me), the All¬Knower of the Ghaib (unseen).
39: 46. Say (O Muhammad SAW): "O Allâh! Creator of the heavens and the earth! All-Knower of the Ghaib (unseen) and the seen. You will judge between your slaves about that wherein they used to differ."
33: 2. He knows that which goes into the earth and that which comes forth from it, and that which descend from the heaven and that which ascends to it. And He is the Most Merciful, the Oft¬Forgiving.
3. Those who disbelieve say: "The Hour will not come to us." Say: "Yes, by my Lord, it will come to you." (Allâh, He is) the All¬Knower of the unseen, not even the weight of an atom (or a small ant) or less than that or greater, escapes from His Knowledge in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a Clear Book (Al¬Lauh Al-Mahfûz).

Follow the prophet way:

9: 63. Know they not that whoever opposes and shows hostility to Allâh (ÚÒ æ Ìá) and His Messenger (SAW), certainly for him will be the Fire of Hell to abide therein. That is extreme disgrace.
24: ……..And let those who oppose the Messenger's (Muhammad SAW) commandment (i.e. his Sunnah legal ways, orders, acts of worship, statements, etc.) (among the sects) beware, lest some Fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions, earthquakes, killing, overpowered by a tyrant, etc.) befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them.
33: 71.  He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allâh and His Messenger (SAW) he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. he will be saved from the Hell-fire and made to enter Paradise).
49: 7. And know that, among you there is the Messenger of Allâh (SAW). If he were to obey you (i.e. follow your opinions and desires) in much of the matter, you would surely be in trouble, but Allâh has endeared the Faith to you and has beautified it in your hearts, and has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience (to Allâh and His Messenger SAW) hateful to you. These! They are the rightly guided ones,
61:11.  That you believe in Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allâh with your wealth and your lives, that will be better for you, if you but know!
72: 23. "(Mine is) but conveyance (of the truth) from Allâh and His Messages (of Islâmic Monotheism), and whosoever disobeys Allâh and His Messenger, then verily, for him is the Fire of Hell, he shall dwell therein forever ."
108: 1. Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise);
3. For he who makes you angry (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), - he will be cut off (from every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter).
Muslim :: Book 17 : Hadith 4238
Ubida b. as-Samit repnrted: I was one of those headmen who swore allegiance to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) that we will not associate anything with Allah, and will not commit adultery, and will not steal, and will not kill any soul which Allah has forbidden, but with justice nor plunder, nor disobey (Allah and His Apostle), then Paradise (will be the reward) in case we do these (acts) ; and if we commit any outrage(bad, violence) (and that goes unpunished in the world), it is Allah Who would decide about it. Ibn Rumh said: Its judgment lies with Allah.

I take it nobody has read what I put , as you are all clear advocates of hadith over that of the Quran.
I did post the history of hadiths and it has been taken off.
Allah states quite clearly that it is the Quran that we should follow. And Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, made it quite clear he did not want hadiths written about his lifestyle, as he knew they would become more important than the Quran.

What I suggest people should do is check out the hadiths for your selves and see if they are in line with the Quran

..............prayer in Quran is 2 rakats only,,,,hadiths state this too..........so where is it stated that you pray four and three and twenty odd in ramadam??? who told you that??

zakat is 10% in Quran and Hadiths also.....so where do you get 2.5% from...other than a fabricated hadith, which so obvious and plain to see.

I follow hadiths, but only the ones in line with Quran.

Do not follow blindly as Allah instructs us also not to do this, as hadiths and practices are full of corruption and innovations. These text books of faith and Islam are full of innovations that are leading people astray and away from Allah, and worse are making you commit shirk.

Quran is your only one true guide.

I did post the history of hadiths and it has been taken off.

As'salamu Alaikum dear brother Yaz,

Sorry about that dear brother.  It wasn't taken off on purpose.  When this blog went down and was restored, the posts that were made on the day you posted it were not recovered.

I hope this didn't cause much inconvenience.  Feel free to post your thoughts.

Take care,

Title: Re: How to Convince hadith Rejecters?

Thats ok QuransearchCom, but what I will write hear is the REMINDER FROM THE QURAN....concerning the hadiths...

A note first though,,,,the Quran is a reminder, a confirmation of the books revealed before time, that is the Torah and the Bible. Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family,  came as only a warner of the reminder, the Quran to the Jews and the Christians, to follow their books and implement the teachings within their books. And if any where to believe in the Quran, and submit as a submitter ( to Islam ) then so be it. After all it is mentioned that the Jews and Christians would know the truth of the Quran as they would of read similar to that in their own books. But too is the mention of the Jews and Christians changing the words of their books.
And as Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, would teach these Jews, they would be the first ones to write the hadiths in his presence, as so called believers, though they really secretly disbelieved, then would change the hadiths after they left Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. So now to what Allah states in the Quran..........

Have ye any hope that they will be true to you when a party of them used to listen to the word of Allah, then used to change it, after they had understood it, knowingly?  And when they fall in with those who believe, they say: We believe. But when they go apart one with another they say: Prate ye to them of that which Allah hath disclosed to you that they may contend with you before your Lord concerning it? Have ye then no sense? 2:75-76

Seest thou not those unto whom a portion of the Scripture hath been given, how they purchase error, and seek to make you (Muslims) err from the right way?  Allah knoweth best (who are) your enemies. Allah is sufficient as a Friend, and Allah is sufficient as a Helper. Some of those who are Jews change words from their context and say: "We hear and disobey; hear thou as one cannot be made hear not" and "Listen to us!" distorting with their tongues and slandering religion. If they had said: "We hear and we obey: hear thou, and look at us" it had been better for them, and more upright. But Allah hath cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, save a few. 4;44-46

Hast thou not seen those who pretend that they believe in that which is revealed unto thee and that which was revealed before thee, how they would go for judgment (in their disputes) to false deities when they have been ordered to abjure them? Satan would mislead them far astray. (60) And when it is said unto them: Come unto that which Allah hath revealed and unto the messenger, thou seest the hypocrites turn from thee with aversion. 4:60-61

And they say: (It is) obedience; but when they have gone forth from thee a party of them spend the night in planning other than what thou sayest. Allah recordeth what they plan by night. So oppose them and put thy trust in Allah. Allah is sufficient as Trustee.  Will they not then ponder on the Qur'an? If it had been from other than Allah they would have found therein much incongruity. 4;81-82

Lo! those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers, and seek to make distinction between Allah and His messengers, and say: We believe in some and disbelieve in others, and seek to choose a way in between; 4;150

And because of their breaking their covenant, We have cursed them and made hard their hearts. They change words from their context and forget a part of that whereof they were admonished. Thou wilt not cease to discover treachery from all save a few of them. But bear with them and pardon them. Lo! Allah loveth the kindly.  And with those who say: "Lo! we are Christians," We made a covenant, but they forgot a part of that whereof they were admonished. Therefor We have stirred up enmity and hatred among them till the Day of Resurrection, when Allah will inform them of their handiwork. O People of the Scripture! Now hath Our messenger come unto you, expounding unto you much of that which ye used to hide in the Scripture, and forgiving much. Now hath come unto you light from Allah and plain Scripture,  Whereby Allah guideth him who seeketh His good pleasure unto paths of peace. He bringeth them out of darkness unto light by His decree, and guideth them unto a straight path.  They indeed have disbelieved who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. Say: Who then can do aught against Allah, if He had willed to destroy the Messiah son of Mary, and his mother and everyone on earth? Allah's is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He createth what He will. And Allah is Able to do all things.  The Jews and Christians say: We are sons of Allah and His loved ones. Say: Why then doth He chastise you for your sins? Nay, ye are but mortals of His creating. He forgiveth whom He will, and chastiseth whom He will. Allah's is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and unto Him is the journeying.  O People of the Scripture! Now hath Our messenger come unto you to make things plain unto you after an interval (of cessation) of the messengers, lest ye should say: There came not unto us a messenger of cheer nor any warner. Now hath a messenger of cheer and a warner come unto you. Allah is Able to do all things. 5:13-19

Thus have We appointed unto every prophet an adversary - devils of humankind and jinn who inspire in one another plausible discourse through guile. If thy Lord willed, they would not do so; so leave them alone with their devising; 6:112

Shall I seek other than Allah for judge, when He it is Who hath revealed unto you (this) Scripture, fully explained? Those unto whom We gave the Scripture (aforetime) know that it is revealed from thy Lord in truth. So be not thou (O Muhammad) of the waverers. (114) Perfected is the Word of thy Lord in truth and justice. There is naught that can change His words. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 6:114-115

And when Our revelations are recited unto them, thou knowest the denial in the faces of those who disbelieve; they all but attack those who recite Our revelations unto them. Say: Shall I proclaim unto you worse than that? The Fire! Allah hath promised it for those who disbelieve. A hapless journey's end! 22:72

When the hypocrites come unto thee (O Muhammad), they say: We bear witness that thou art indeed Allah's messenger. And Allah knoweth that thou art indeed His messenger, and Allah beareth witness that the Hypocrites indeed are speaking falsely.  They make their faith a pretext so that they may turn (men) from the way of Allah. Verily evil is that which they are wont to do. 63;1-2
