Salam alaikum brothers :)
I read some commentaries about Isaiah 42 and i have a question
Is selah that mentioned there is the city of selah in Palestine or selah mountain? I'm confused

Selah in Palestine??  Does the place even exist?  Has any Biblical place in Palestine ever been called Selah?  Tell the these priests lovers, - the  monkeys of the cross, - to read their own Bibles:

Isaiah 42:11
Let the desert and its cities lift up their voice, The villages that Kedar inhabits.  Let the inhabitants of Sela סלע  sing, Let them shout from the top of the mountains.

סלע:

ס = S
ל = L
ע = A

Kedar is in Saudi Arabia, and Sela is also in Medina.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, made history-shaping prophecies that brought down entire empires on this mountain.

As'salamu Alaikum dear brothers,

The following will provide further proofs that it is Arabia, insha'Allah:

Isaiah 30:6 The burden upon the south.

Isaiah 30:27
27 Behold, the name of the Lord cometh from far (Far from Palestine.  Mecca is 900+ miles far, and it is in the south)

Isaiah 21:13
13 The burden upon Arabia....

See also other Arabian regions prophecies in details throughout the Bibles such as:

Dedan
Kedar (name of one of Ishmael's sons)
Dumah

Wa alaikum assalam

Both are called so; but the context tells us everything.

The prophecy of Isaiah 42 about the Prophet:

1. Lives where Kedar the son of Ishmael [Genesis 25:13]
2. Kedar from Arabia [Ezekiel 27:21]
3. Will live besides Sela (mountain in Arabia)
4. He will sing a new song (law)
5. Will be sent from Gentiles not Jews
NOT TO THE LOST SHEEP OF ISRAEL Matthew (15:24)
6. Man of war (Isaiah 42:13)
7. Will be sent to idol worshipers (Isaiah 42:17)

Who is this man?

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Choose happiness not misery

Holy Quran
2:57 We shaded you with clouds, and sent down to you manna and quails, "Eat from the goodness of the provisions We have provided you." They did not wrong Us, but they wronged themselves.

2:58 We said, "Enter this town, and eat from it as plentifully as you wish; and enter the gate humbly, and talk amicably, We will then forgive your mistakes, and We will increase for the good-doers."

2:59 But the wicked altered what was said to them into a different saying, thus We sent down upon the wicked an affliction from the sky because they had transgressed.

2:60 Moses was seeking water for his people, so We said, "Strike the rock with your staff." Thus, twelve springs burst out of it; each tribe then knew from where to drink. "Eat and drink from God's provisions, and do not roam the earth as corruptors."

2:61 You said, "O Moses, we will not be patient to one type of food, so call for us your Lord that He may bring forth what the earth grows of its beans, cucumbers, garlic, lentils, and onions." He said, "Would you trade what is lowly with what is good?" Descend to Egypt, there you will find what you want. They were thus stricken with humiliation and disgrace, and they remained under God's wrath for they were not appreciating God's signs, and killing the prophets with no justification. This is for what they have disobeyed and transgressed

Here, the Israelites do not like manna, an extraordinary food specially produced for them, and they want to turn to other foods of inferior quality.

At first glance this may seem to some to be "wanting variety and richness". But no, a hundred kinds of tents are not worth one luxury villa or castle. If you choose a hundred kinds of tents over a castle, you are choosing poverty and misery, not riches.

"Exchanging an inferior blessing for a superior one" is self-cruelty.

And choosing misery and oppression over happiness and pleasure is deviation.

So self-persecution is not virtue, it is cruelty.

So we have to choose the good, the beautiful and the happy for ourselves and for all humanity.

The way to go to heaven in the hereafter is to offer beauty to ourselves and humanity in this world.

In other words, avoiding suffering and evil.

The Qur'an "shows what are the 'true interests' of human beings" and "shows the means of achieving these interests, of attaining lasting salvation. "

Some of the commands and prohibitions that seem like sacrifices are actually desires that in the long run provide pleasure and benefit both in this world and in the hereafter.

Those who play chess know well that you can bait a queen and checkmate your opponent after a few moves. Taking that queen may seem like a win for the opponent at the time, but after a few moves it will turn into a great misery for him.

The Qur'an warns people against such traps, and shows them how to "checkmate", that is, how to win in the end and avoid suffering.

I just added a new clip showing how Hebrew scribes misspell letters and end up mixing them up (either by error or intentionally):

Wa Alaikum As'salam dear brother Ibn Layla,

Jazaka Allah Khayr again.  The following links provide thorough analysis on the Hebrew letters:

I think we should research writing in cursive and scripted styles in ancient Hebrew.  If we can prove that even in their text what they actually read as ATMC can also be read as AHMAD, - because this is how ancient Hebrew writers wrote, - and sometimes the H and T are written in exactly same way, then we'll have a complete checkmate on them.

I will research it insha'Allah.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah

Salam alaikum brothers and sisters
While having a conversation with a christian I mentioned him the Ahmed name in dead sea scrolls and he responded by sending me this link
https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/35624/is-the-name-ahmad-mentioned-in-the-dead-sea-scrolls
I'm not an expert in scrolls so can anyone respond to this?

Wa Alaikum As'salam dear brother Ibn Layla,

Jazaka Allah Khayr and welcome to the board, akhi.  Great discovery!  One of Islam's names in the Glorious Quran is SILM:

"O ye who believe! Enter into Islam (في السلم into the Selm (another name for Islam)) whole-heartedly; and follow not the footsteps of the evil one; for he is to you an avowed enemy." (The Noble Quran, 2:208).

So SHILM in Genesis 17 is being a Muslim.  I will add to the website and do further research, insha'Allah.

Take care,

POLITICS & RELIGION / Muhammad in greek in John of Damascus
« Last post by nisa on November 03, 2022, 10:03:35 AM »
Assalamualaikum,Is there anyone who read John of Damascus's writing in greek? Well, I know I may be thinking too much but I read an article where it say something very uncomfortable things like:"Muhammad" lived in mecca as islami tradition say but he is author of early mecca sura on the other hand "Mamed "mentioned by John of Damascus and others is another one who authored medinan sura.I don't understand how he came to that conclusion cause I stopped reading as it's clearly anti islamic but it's bothering me.I have read than in a greek arabic papyri Muhammad mentioned as "MAAMET" in greek,so is there any significant change if later people call him as Mamed?
