Title: Can Shariah 'move with the times?'
Post by: Tanveer on November 28, 2012, 11:10:21 AM
By this i dont mean abolishing the crimes but what i mean is changing the punishments for a modern equivalent. So if there was a crime which original punishment was beheading could we change it for something else such as lethal injection? Thanks.

Im not a scholar, however, i personally think that if it doesn't directly describe beheading, then other methods can be used, as long as it has the same effect.

Thanks for the reply Zulfiqar. Since writing this post i did more research and i came to the conclusion that shariah punishments dont need to move with the times at all. The crimes that can be punished by capital punishment deserved to be punished by capital punishment. So alls good :P Once again thanks for the reply and also for replying to my other post.
