GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Nihilist ?
« on: November 08, 2016, 12:19:03 AM »
Nihility is the belief that nothing happens after we die. An atheist point of view as well. They assert that we don't remember the time before we die, therefore we will not remember or see anything after we die.

I remember reading in the Qur'an (I'm not sure which surah) about how we are born twice? How does the above claim correlate with Islam? Cause according to Islam weren't we all created then our souls were sent down to Earth?

Also, how legit is the above Nihilist view?

Salam.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Significance of the Number 7 ?
« on: November 05, 2016, 09:53:00 PM »
Salam guys,

I've been wondering, what is the deal with the number 7 in Islam (maybe even other religions?) We have to circulate around the Ka'aba 7 times, the Qur'an describes the 7 heavens and seven earths like it.

So far all i know is seven heavens was a metaphor for several layers (Like how in arabic we say Ana kont be saba3 noum) It doesn't literally mean i was sleeping in 7. It implies a long time.

But what's the logic behind the 7 times around the ka'aba and the pattern occurrence of 7? Doesn't 7 have a sort of pagan history or am i wrong?

Thank you brothers in advance,

The big questions on whether or not God exists. I was reading up on the big bang theory and suddenly came across this at the end of the website.

http://www.allaboutphilosophy.org/does-god-exist-c.htm

Could some of the brothers with strong faith take a look at this and give their refutations ? Or am I just extremely paranoid..

Sorry if spewing my emotions on the board is irritating any of you...

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Age of Earth in Islam ?
« on: October 27, 2016, 06:19:34 AM »
Is there any set period in Islam when Adam and Eve came ? What differs us from those Young Earth Creationists ?

"Had Adam been a Prophet?" Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) answered "Yes." The man asked "How much time passed between him and Noah?" Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) replied : "Ten Qarn" (Ibn Hibban, Hadith 6190)

^How authentic is that hadith above ? Or is it another Israelite creation ?

A thorough response would be greatly appreciated, brothers.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Jesus The Sun God ?
« on: October 26, 2016, 09:02:44 AM »
The following was taken from Wikipedia :

In ancient Roman culture, Sunday was the day of the Sun god. It was adopted as the Sabbath day by Christians who did not have a Jewish background. The symbol of light was a pagan device adopted by Christians, and perhaps the most important one that did not come from Jewish traditions. In paganism, the Sun was a source of life, giving warmth and illumination to mankind. It was the center of a popular cult among Romans, who would stand at dawn to catch the first rays of sunshine as they prayed. The celebration of the winter solstice (which influenced Christmas) was part of the Roman cult of the unconquered Sun (Sol Invictus). Christian churches were built with an orientation so that the congregation faced toward the sunrise in the East.

Is this why Robert Morey created the hysteria around Moon god ? To draw attention away from this ?

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / "Light" Wife Beating
« on: October 23, 2016, 04:58:56 AM »
Extremely controversial topic that will always be taken out of context. Some (a lot aka Christians and Dawkins) will take it out of context implying that Men have the right and left to knock their wives out Mike Tyson style. However, the Qur'an is obviously referring to it as ONE of the last resorts before divorcing a very abusive,ill-conducted wife. (The other resort being just divorce)

Now, I have always wondered. Is the beating to be taken literal? Or is there another meaning? Both sides could make sense.

However, the true question remaining is that if we were to truly beat.. what fashion should it be in? Darab makes it very vague in a sense.
Translators have always used "Lightly" Many critics accused Muslims of "arbitrarily cherry-picking" as the word lightly does not appear. But we actually do have proof that it is indeed Lightly and there is no shame from the side of the translators.

Guillaume’s translation of Ibn Ishaq's "Sirat Rasulallah":
"You have rights over your wives, and they have rights over you. You have the right that they should not defile your bed and that they should not behave with open unseemliness. If they do, God allows you to put them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not with severity. If they refrain from these things and obey you, they have right to their food and clothing with kindness. Lay injunctions on women kindly, for they are your wards having no control of their persons."
“The Life of Muhammad”, Oxford, 1955, page 651. (Translation of one of the earliest accounts of prophet Muhammad, apparently written about 150 years after his death)

Straight from the Man who the words of the Qur'an were revealed to from Gibril.

Might i remind you that the Prophet mentioned LIGHTLY beat them to the wives WHO DEFILE YOUR BED.

Defile : To violate the chastity of.

Basically the wife who sleep with another man.

If this is not mercy then i don't know what is. Maybe this Hadith could have saved O.J Simpson from trial lol.

I created an article in regards to Camel Milk and Camel Urine backed with several scientific sources proving its anti-cancer and anti-diabetic qualities.

By far one of the most ridiculed topics regarding Muslims, yet these people don't do any simple research. This article will finally shut down all the noise those fools make.

Please publish it on the website for confused Muslims to see.

p.s could you please not show my email account i prefer to keep it private, thanks man.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Women in Islam not as claimed ?
« on: October 01, 2016, 09:35:53 AM »
http://www.arabhumanists.org/arab-women-pre-islam/

According to an essay on the website above whenever muslims claim that Islam gave rights to women that the rights were bogus and not at all special as in fact they've provided certain hadiths (not sure if reliable ) which showed how women were treated harshly. That as more information could potentially show how muslim women were treated badly and apologists will have to find a way to cope with it without changing the meanings in the Quran. This article greatly stressed me for some reason. There are references stated at the bottom of it as well for those of you who would like to see.

Osama i couldnt find a way to delete my previous post as it was really stupid. However this is important.

http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Contrad/Internal/

Some of these are already refuted. However some aren't.  There's also external and other claimed contradictions. I havent seen the website author update these rebuttals only a few were. Point 5 really stood out.

Why can't Christians put this much nitpicking with their own bible.

Literally the first site in everyone's face whenever they search the internet is Wikipedia. The first source people rely on for information is Wikipedia.

In the light of all that. It is absolutely SWARMING with anti-islamics !!! Ranging from the science articles from the Earth's shape (which is the first evidence nearly all early doubting muslims check for and Maurice Bucille's book) to Child marriage regarding Aisha's age.

I think it's about time we took over those sensitive topics away from those Anti islamic guerrillas and their false, fabricated and distorted lies.

And clear out all those recycled refutations and implement the actual truth with sources from this website and many others.

How about we put down our metaphorical swords down for now (Akhi Abdullah i'm pointing at you lol) and do our Ummah a favour before we lose more and more muslims to atheism ?

THE IRONIC DELUSION IS THAT THESE CHRISTIAN/JEWS ARE TRYING TO INDUCE DOUBTING MUSLIMS INTO THEIR RELIGION WHICH IS THE SUN BEHIND ATHEISM EVEN BLOSSOMING IN THE FIRST PLACE HAHAHHAHAHA.  "oh no Christopher Columbus be careful you'll fall off the ends of the earth"

Due to my limited knowledge i can't obviously do this all on my own. So what do you guys think ?

Is the Quran implying the universe has a roof and that pieces of it can fall on the earth ?

1. The scientific fact is that the Earth’s atmosphere helps destroy meteorites as they approach Earth, filters harmful light rays, protects against the cold temperatures of space, and its Van Allen Belt acts like as a shield against the harmful radiation. The Earth’s atmosphere can be attributed as a protected roof.

2. The Qur’ān uses the words saqfan maḥfūẓan, which means a protect roof.

3. Therefore, the Qur’ān is describing the function of the Earth’s atmosphere.

Again, the above syllogism is invalid. It doesn’t logically follow that the words saqfan maḥfūẓan, which refers to a protected roof, describes the function of the Earth’s atmosphere. This is because saqfan maḥfūẓan can also refer to a physical roof. Some interpretations of the Qur’ān include that the heaven is erected with invisible pillars, and that a fragment of the heaven or sky can fall on Earth; (see Qur’ān 13:2 and 34:9). These interpretations indicate a solid roof like structure, as confirmed by the classical exegete Ibn Kathīr who cites a scholar mentioning that “the heaven is like a dome over the earth”.[15] Therefore the words saqfan maḥfūẓan can also refer to a physical roof or dome like structure. For that reason, the above argument will only be valid if all interpretations and descriptions of saqfan maḥfūẓan describes the function of Earth’s atmosphere.

the word used in 13:2 is samawaat, shouldn't heavens be referred to as Jannah or Firdous ? If so then some proof from other surahs please.

In 34:9 Pieces of the sky implying that the sky is solid ?

A very interesting article i came across :

http://www.wsj.com/articles/eric-metaxas-science-increasingly-makes-the-case-for-god-1419544568

However, there are supposed refutations to this : Just google "Science increasingly makes the case for god" And you'll see one from Richard dawkins dot net and A link "No astrobio does not prove god"

Thoughts on the 2-3 articles ?
