Yusuf Ali: [004:160] For the iniquity of the Jews We made unlawful for them certain (foods) good and wholesome which had been lawful for them;- in that they hindered many from God's Way;-
Dr. Munir Munshey (one of www.answering-christianity.com's authors): [004:160] Thus, for those who became Jews We forbade _ (as a punishment) for their wickedness _ the wholesome things that We had (earlier) made lawful for them. (This is so) because (so often) they turned away _ (and turned so many away) _ from the path of Allah.
Transliteration: [004:160] Fabithulmin mina allatheena hadoo harramna AAalayhim tayyibatin ohillat lahum wabisaddihim AAan sabeeli Allahi katheeran
Arabic (from right to left): 4:160 فبظلم من الذين هادوا حرمنا عليهم طيبات احلت لهم وبصدهم عن سبيل الله كثيرا
Sher Ali: [004:160] So, because of the transgression of the Jews, WE forbade them pure things which had been allowed to them, and also because of their hindering many men from ALLAH's way,
Shakir: [004:160] Wherefore for the iniquity of those who are Jews did We disallow to them the good things which had been made lawful for them and for their hindering many (people) from Allah's way.
Pickthall: [004:160] Because of the wrongdoing of the Jews We forbade them good things which were (before) made lawful unto them, and because of their much hindering from Allah's way,
Sale: [004:160] Because of the iniquity of those who judaize, we have forbidden them good things, which had been formerly allowed them; and because they shut out many from the way of God,
Muhammad Al-Hilali & Muhsin Khan: [004:160] For the wrongdoing of the Jews, We made unlawful to them certain good foods which has been lawful to them, and for their hindering many from Allahs Way;

Arberry: [004:160] And for the evildoing of those of Jewry, We have forbidden them certain good things that were permitted to them, and for their barring from God's way many,
Khalifa: (why is he here?) [004:160] Due to their transgressions, we prohibited for the Jews good foods that used to be lawful for them; also for consistently repelling from the path of GOD.
Rodwell: [004:160] For the wickedness of certain Jews, and because they turn many from the way of God, we have forbidden them goodly viands which had been before allowed them.
