I don't see the Rabbi explained it accurately, brother.  Allah Almighty doesn't call Jews apes.  He converted those who intentionally broke the Sabbath into monkeys and pigs.  The Bible also supports this.  This is explained here in details:

The Jews are never called any name, as in name-calling title, in the Glorious Quran.  The name-calling for the Jews you find in the New Testament.  They're called there "Sons of Satan".

Take care,

The Rabbi presents its historical context. At the end of the video one would garner more knowledge that the verse was aimed at a specific group of Jews who broke the Sabbath. The Rabbi, acknowledges that Jews have been described in much harsher language in the Bible (Old Testament) ‘when they sin’.

In NT:
Luke 11
40You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also?
45 One of the experts in the law answered him, "Teacher, when you say these things, you insult us also."

Understood dear brother, but the Glorious Quran still does not call Jews pigs and monkeys, even those who broke the Sabbath.  Allah Almighty converted them to pigs and monkeys.  I personally believe the reason Allah Almighty did this is for the following reasons:

1-  This was a blessing time of Miracles.  Moses, peace be upon him, parting the sea with his stick during the Exodus, and before that converted a wooden stick to a live snake.

2-  Allah Almighty spoke with Moses on the mountain and gave him the Revelations on the tablets.

3-  And many other Miracles.

And what did those respond to all of this?  It was magic and Moses was a liar.  They broke the Sabbath intentionally and defiantly, and Allah Almighty in response transformed them to pigs and monkeys.  And like I said, the Bible also supports this.  Read the links above.

The Rabbi was also speaking about the Glorious Quran as "Muhammad said...".  Muhammad, peace be upon him, didn't say anything.  It is all Allah Almighty, and Allah Almighty didn't name-call them.  He converted them to pigs and monkeys.

The Rabbi's comparison between the Quran and the Bible, and how both called Jews names (pigs and fools) is wrong.

I understand that there are peaceful and nice Jews and Christians.  Sure, we should work with them.  But we must also be aware of their views on our Holy Book, that in the end, it is a book of nothing, which is wrong.  The reader can visit the following link to see the Glorious Quran's Stunning Miracles:

I hope this helps, Insha'Allah.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
