Allegations by non-mulim.
« on: July 14, 2014, 05:51:54 PM »
Now, I have heard that the prophet Muhammad S.A.W was either born circumcised, or his uncle circumcised him. Which one is true ? Please provide the source also as some Islamic sites present this "According to narrations by Ibn Umar (r) and others Prophet Muhammad (s) was born circumcised and with his umbilical cord already cut off. Anas (r) related that the Prophet (s) said, "One of the signs of the honor I have been given by my Lord is that I was born circumcised, and no one saw my private parts." But I can't find the source. Secondly, I know that the prophet Muhammad S.A.W is from Ishmael A.S, but a christian posted this, therefore how do I reply:https://scontent-a-kul.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/t1.0-9/10489875_418208334988501_8967103198291961286_n.jpg

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad , is His slave and Messenger.

It is reported in some narrations that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) was born with a cut umbilical cord and circumcised, but these narrations are either weak or fabricated. Indeed, there are other Prophetic narrations which contradict the above narrations, which state that 'Abdul-Muttalib, the grandfather of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) circumcised him on the seventh day. It is for this reason that some scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them adopt the view that he was not born circumcised.

Among these scholars was Ibn Al-Qayyim may Allaah have mercy upon him as he stated in his book, Zaad Al-Ma'aad, when he mentioned the first view in this issue,

'One of these opinions is that he was born circumcised with a cut umbilical cord, however, the narration which was reported in this regard is unauthentic. Abu Faraj Ibn Al-Jawzi may Allaah have mercy upon him listed this narration in the book of fabricated narrations. No authentic narration was mentioned in this issue which states that he sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) was born circumcised, and no one can prove it on the pretext that this is peculiar to him sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) as many people were born circumcised.'

As regards him sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) being born clean from any blood stains and the like, then we have not come across any evidence proving this despite the large number of books that we have on the subject.

Allaah Knows best.
