Refutation to Epilepsy Objection.
« on: December 15, 2018, 05:33:53 AM »
I thought this anti Islamic trend against Muhammad SAW was gone about temporal lobe epilepsy but I saw people using it yet again. So now here's a complete refutation of this objection.

1.)Weakness, jerking, loss of awareness, et

Focal impaired awareness (complex partial) seizures can be associated with a fixed stare, impaired consciousness, fumbling with their fingers, or lip-smacking movements that last 30 to 60 seconds. There can be a posture change in an arm that also can help identify the location in the brain of these seizures. Some people also speak gibberish or lose their ability to speak in a sensible manner. Some individuals report difficulty with the language, particularly if the seizures are coming from the dominant temporal lobe. Some people may have a generalized tonic-clonic jerking and this can lead to weakness after the seizure has stopped

this never happened with the Prophet Muhammad Saw he was very much aware of his sorrounding and the questions being asked and he used to respond in accordance with revelation.
"I took a walk with the Prophet (ﷺ) on a farm in Al-Madinah, and when he reclined upon a palm-leaf stalk, a group of Jews were passing by. Some of them said, 'We should question him.' Others said: 'Do not question him for he might tell you something that you do not like.' They said to him: 'O Abul-Qasim, narrated to us about the Ruh.' The Prophet (ﷺ) stood for some time, he raised his head toward the heavens, and I recognized revelation was coming to him, until the revelation ceased. Then he (ﷺ) said: "The Ruh is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you have been given only a little (17:85).'"

2.)Odor and wierd feelings

The aura is actually the first part of a focal seizure before consciousness is impaired. Examples of auras include:

A sudden sense of unprovoked fear or joy
A deja vu experience — a feeling that what's happening has happened before
A sudden or strange odor or taste
A rising sensation in the abdomen, similar to being on a roller coaster

The Prophet SAW never ever reported he felt any of these.

3.)After effects of Seizures

After a temporal lobe seizure, you may have:

A period of confusion and difficulty speaking
Inability to recall what occurred during the seizure
Unawareness of having had a seizure
Extreme sleepiness

The Prophet SAW was never confused as the hadith I provided proves he could recite the words and he was saying words that could be understood.

And he could recall what happened in his revelation hence he spoke of Jibraeel, etc.

He was aware that he got revelation hence he reported it in a hadith

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:
While Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was talking about the period of pause in revelation. he said in his narration. "Once while I was walking, all of a sudden I heard a voice from the sky. I looked up and saw to my surprise, the same Angel as had visited me in the cave of Hira.' He was sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I got afraid of him and came back home and said, Wrap me! Wrap me!" So they covered him and then Allah revealed: 'O you, wrapped up! Arise and warn and your Lord magnify, and your garments purify and dessert the idols.' (74.1-5) Abu Salama said, "(Rijz) are the idols which the people of the Pre-lslamic period used to worship." After this the revelation started coming frequently and regularly

Extreme sleepiness isnt true, The Prophet SAW was infact to the contrary, he would be awake all his nights in prayers in the times of revelation.

4.)Seizures more than 5 mins can kill you and if you're injured you will die

Seek immediate medical help if any of the following occurs:

The seizure lasts more than five minutes.
Breathing or consciousness doesn't return after the seizure stops.
A second seizure follows immediately.
Recovery isn't complete after the seizure is over.
Recovery is slower than usual after the seizure is over.
You have a high fever.
You've injured yourself during the seizure

The Prophet SAW was alive after his revelations and he did heal, and he got a revelation in Makkah while he was injured so if it was TLE why did he not die then due to injury in seizure?

So we can see that TLE and Seizures Epilepsy really donot fit the Prophet Muhammad SAWs case.

Hence this claim is only stupid to make.
