Is the first Surah Word of God?
« on: August 09, 2012, 08:31:05 AM »
As salamu aleykum wa rahmatuLlahi wa barakatuh

Is the first Surah Word of Allah?

Quote
5 It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
6 Guide us to the straight path -
7 The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.

Can someone explain?
«We were the lowest of all people and then Allah gave us glory by Islam, and if we seek glory in anything other that what Allah has given us, Allah will disgrace us.» Umar ibn Khattab

As'salamu Alaikum dear brother,

The Glorious Quran's current sequential order of the Noble Surahs (Chapters) is not in the order that the Surahs came in.  It was the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, through Angel Gabriel's help that determined where the Noble Verses go in what Surahs and what places/positions.  Keep in mind that the memorization of the Holy Quran, and the recitation of the entire Holy Quran by Muslims in the Holy Month of Ramadan and throughout the year tremendously helped cement the Holy Quran and protect it from man's corruption and fabrications and alterations, as Allah Almighty Promised in the Holy Book.  Visit: http://www.answering-christianity.com/quran.htm for more details.

Today, aside from the Holy Quran's Overwhelming Scientific Miracles, Muslims have discovered ample Numerical Miracles that indeed testify to the Holy Book's Divinity and Truth.  For ample details and proofs, please visit: http://www.answering-christianity.com/ac20.htm#links.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah

I know and I have no problem with that. The first revealed Surah was the 96th which is

Read, in the name of thy Lord
But you didn't answer the question.

Sorry for misunderstanding your question.  When you said "first Surah", I thought you asked if It was the first Surah revealed.  Here is the answer to your question:

Yes, the Noble Verses that you enquired about are the Holy and Pure and Divine and True Words of Allah Almighty.  The Holy Quran has what I call Psalms in It, where the Noble Verses start with "Our Lord....".  The Noble Verses in question are among them.  Please visit: http://www.answering-christianity.com/pslams_of_the_quran.htm.

Take care,
