The Sharia law under the lens of the western civilization

QuranSearchCom:
It is not easy to bring together four witnesses to lie.  And the raped victim would certainly deny that he did it.  Plus, there would be people who have seen him during the time the rape occurred, since he wasn't there.  Plus, women during those days stayed close to home and wouldn't venture far away.  There are wild animals just around the corner from wild dogs and hyenas.  So, it is virtually impossible to kidnap someone and frame someone else with four witnesses falsely testifying.  They'd know that once they're proven to be lying, it will cost them quite dearly.  Might even cost them their lives.

Something similar happened to those who tricked the Muslims and killed the shepherd.  They were caught, and their arms and legs and eyes were cut off and they were thrown in the desert to bite the dust and die:

And if all five are conspiring, who would have four witnesses testify on him in such case?  It could easily cost him his life.  His punishment would be 100 slashes or stoning to death.  And today there is DNA evidence, cameras, witnesses, GPS tracking, and other things that can verify which side is lying.

Good point. It‘s just that I often hear from ex Muslims or liberal Muslims that in the west we believe in the freedom of the individual and the reign of the folk.

From a christian point of view I‘ve also heard that a better feel for morality shouldn’t be forced by the law and can be accomplished by the teachings of Jesus (pbuh).

I think I will start an extra topic on that though. Thank you, salam.

Christians are the last people to speak about tolerance and acceptance of others.  The West is tolerant today because the church was separated from the state.  Secular states are not ruled by the church.  This is why christian minorities and non-christians began to thrive and continue to thrive.  Today, christianity is also in decline in the west.

Also, Christians massacred each other.  The invasion of Constantinople by Pope Innocent the 3rd, and ample inner-European fights and blood during that age, and World Wars I and II.  Battles like Stalingrad had Christian bitterness between Catholics and Greek-Russian Orthodox in it.  The 1990's Yugoslavian fights between the Serbs and the Croats.  That was also Christian and religious.

Jesus' commands in the NT about turning the other cheeks, and forgiving your brother 77 times are about a believer to believer.  Yes, he also said be kind and forgiving to others, but he always spoke about believer to believer relationship.  And non of this has anything to do with government rule, which is why Christianity had always been used by rulers to justify their wars.  A little incense and smoke blessings by some phony priest, and off they go!

Islam:

Islam came to spread the Truth of Allah Almighty to Mankind.  Yes, there are parts of the world that Islam spread by the sword, but Islam mostly spread by trading.  Most of the Muslim lands today didn't become Muslim by the sword.  Also, there is nothing wrong from seeking to spread GOD Almighty's Truth.  Allah Almighty also commanded the Muslims to be fair and just to non-Muslims who live under the Islamic state:

[005:008]  O ye who believe! stand out firmly for God, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear God. For God is well-acquainted with all that ye do.

[004:058]  God doth command you to render back your Trusts to those to whom they are due; And when ye judge between man and man, that ye judge with justice: Verily how excellent is the teaching which He giveth you! For God is He Who heareth and seeth all things.

"They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide.  And they feed, for the love of God, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- (Saying),"We feed you for the sake of God alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord."  (The Noble Quran, 76:7-10)"

"It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in God and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfill the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and a dversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God-fearing.  (The Noble Quran, 2:177)"
