Quran Scientific Miracles & Islam's Prophecies (in Hadiths and Quran) / Re: Assalamu Aleikum Wa Rahmat’Allahi Wa Barakatu & Quick Point
« on: August 21, 2012, 06:47:03 PM »
Subhan’Allah another quick point regarding the queen bee matter since I was re-reading the queen bee article and I now agree even more with brother Osama’s view about those two noble verses indeed referring to none else but the queen bee more-so than the majority of other descriptions that have been done on the subject mostly only discussing the part about the female bee being the one producing the honey (and only in the case of the producing of honey as far as the verses are concerned do “bees†in feminine plural come into play, apart from that all the feminine roles are done in the singular and as I will show in a bit can only be referring to the queen bee).
Indeed the first verse of the two describing the phenomenon does say:
“And thy Lord inspired the bees (to): build your cells in hills, on trees, and in (men's) habitations;†[16:68]
“Bees†as brother Osama put it referring to all bees in plural masculine.
Then comes according to me the first and most crucial part of the “roles†that would show in feminine singular, coupled with the “humbleness†aspect of the whole description as brother Osama put it, that the noble verses would indeed be referring to none else but the queen bee: the part about a female singular bee building its cells in hills, on trees and in men’s habitations – all on her own (female singular) – and in truth really in "humbleness" as if some research is done on the subject the only case where the hive might be getting built (its beginnings only) by a singular female bee is only by the queen bee, as otherwise when bees do sometimes change locations “scout†bees go on a search for a new location and on and on for the whole process until the whole hive has been moved along to the new location where they begin to build it up together, together as in many/multiple bees in the plural, not in the singular as is the case with those two verses. See: http://www.ehow.com/how-does_5215297_do-bees-build-hives_.html
That first part of the three "roles" being mentioned or more-so "actions" actually instead of "roles" in feminine singular was pretty significant to me because even though the other "actions" are also relevant, any bee may however "find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord" alone or "eat of all the produce (of the earth)" by storing up for instance honey inside of itself of course alone as well, whereas the extra building and expansion of the hive after it has been initially first built by the queen bee (and I don't mean when the bees are moving locations, I mean at the complete beginning when the queen bee is all on her own and hasn't formed the colony yet or laid any eggs for the first bees of said colony to be born) is always done in groups of multiple bees, you won't be seeing anytime soon one bee all on her own working on building/expanding the hive, and that is why this use of the singular feminine for the start of the hive building stage was a pretty striking one for this case.
The verse however is only referring to a single female bee in this case who would be starting it all up like brother Osama said all the way from the beginning at the hive location search stage and then on to the hive building stage.
And then finally the second verse continues on and switches back to the feminine plural, etc and brother Osama does a very good job of going on over the rest so no need for me to rego over the whole article
Anyways, Subhan'Allah. Let me know brothers and sisters what your thoughts are on this, and I would end my second post on this matter by also adding that the reason for all this switching in masculine plural to feminine singular to feminine plural and it all being scientifically accurate is pretty clear honestly, and that it wasn't just being made for nothing.
Brother Osama was right to be making "such a big deal out of this"
