Assalamun Alaikum

Thank you for that wonderful answer. My friend here told that Christ had the authority to forgive any sin and quoted that "The Son of Man has the authority to forgive sin". Since Prophet Muhammad is a Mercy to mankind, didn't he have the authority to forgive sin?

Assalamun Alaikum dear brothers

The Quran describes the Prophet as being a Mercy to the whole of mankind. So once a Christian friend of mine asked me that if he was a Mercy why didn't he forgive adulterers instead of stoning them. Didn't the Prophet have the right to forgive sin?

So true. Yes there will be no gay rights,  no prostitution, no alcoholism. Evil would have indeed come to an end if the original Islamic caliphate continued. The entire world would have seen the might of Islam.

What exactly happened to the original Islamic caliphate of Prophet Muhammad. I know that it expanded as far as Spain in the west and China in the East. If it had existed today it would have been a global empire. What do you all guys think?

Do you know what the seven seals is in the book of revelations?  Is it related to the sealed scripture in Isaiah?  And in the book of revelations it speaks of a New Jerusalem?  What exactly is New Jerusalem in Islam?

He did forgive some people but still they quote Ibn Ishaq's work to show that the Prophet took revenge from people who simply insulted him. Their point was that the Prophet simply cannot bear insults.  So is everything in Ibn Ishaq's account accurate. Can we rely on his works?

Assalamun alaikum dear brothers

Most anti Islamic sites say that Prophet Muhammad was merciful only when he was in Mecca since he wanted to attract many Arabs to the religion. And they also claim that the verses of love and mercy were revealed only when the Prophet was in Mecca. They say that when he went to Medina his attitude changed since he had power and wasn't merciful. They say that he took revenge from people who insulted him. And they quote verses from Ibn Ishaq's account.
Can anyone please provide a refutation all these claims

Assalamun Alaikum dear brother

Apostasy is considered a sin in Islam. Apostasy is actually treason in Islam. In any country the punishment for treason is death. However in the Hadith of the Prophet there is no punishment just for leaving Islam. If a person leaves Islam and that particular person is a threat to the religion then he is too be executed according to the Islamic law.

What I meant by following the Sunnah very strictly was like memorizing all the Dua of the Holy Prophet, like dua before sleeping, dua before dressing and all that and emulating them in your daily life. Yes I do not listen to Music since modern music has so much filth in it. That is what I actually meant.
