the verse is giving a situation where the prophet was given the same death similar to past messengers either being killed or died. Hence without the presence of a prophet, would one turn back to disbelieve

the so called 'terrorists' muslims form themselves and retaliate after their nations got bombed and destroyed , some even witness their family members blasted into pieces. this motivate them to pursue war against the west and their alliance.

when soldiers from two ends enter a battlefield, soldiers from both side  knew well they may not be breathing at the end of battle. this is the norm of a war.

as for suicide bombing,  it is simply a resort to take out enemies due to inferiority in battling superior enemies.
instead of hurting an enemy in an attempt to win the war,  they chose to hurt themselves in order to have a chance in winning a war.
