Br. Osama has said that the Qur'an has prohibited the word "Shia". However, it is a broad term that is used throughout the Qur'an, most notably:
37:83 - And indeed, among
his kind was Abraham
The Arabic of it uses the word Shia (source: Sahih International)
Qur'an 28:15 - And he entered the city at a time of inattention by its people and found therein two men fighting: one from
his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from
his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. [Moses] said, "This is from the work of Satan. Indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy."
Once again, the Arabic version has the word "Shia".
So we see the word "Shia" is a broad term that is not be used as a label to divide the Muslims, as stated in verse 30:33.
