There are no verses that prohibit music in islam and Allah gave i think david the psalms which includes music and singing in it doesnt it? I think if music WAS haram then Allah would have given him something different. I think the prophet pbuh couldve been referring to the pre islamic nude woman music practice? I found a website that goes into detail about this issue. Ill try to find it for you
