Never promised husbands for each wife
« on: December 18, 2019, 03:44:49 PM »
As'salamu Alaikum Everyone,

As I continue building my article of about Jesus, and how the New Testament called him literally and verbatim a " fat drunk" "gluttonous, and a winebibber" (Matthew 11:19), I made the following point, from among others, about polygamy allowed in the NT:

1-  Each believer will get 100 times the wives in Heaven.  But Jesus never promised husbands for each wife.

Too much confused and drunk language in the NT.  Pork was never allowed.  Polygamy was never forbidden.  Rich people are not evil, and many other examples.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah

Jesus ok polygamy in Matthew 19

As'salamu Alaikum Everyone,

This is the one and only verse Christians use to prohibit polygamy:

Matthew 19
9. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman a similar commits adultery.

Notice "another woman" got crossed.  This is because the word "woman" is not there in the Greek, and the word for "another" also means similar.

If you read www.answering-christianity.com/ntpoly.htm, you'll see that polygamy is clearly allowed in the OT and NT.  It was also commanded in the OT in some cases.  And Jesus never forbade it at all.  He only forbade unjust divorce.  He is basically saying this:

If you divorce your wife, except if she cheats on you, and marry a SIMILAR, then you'll commit adultery.

Yes, this is because the new "wife" is still married to her husband just like your "former wife" is still married to you.

I will update the article with ample proofs from Greek, insha'Allah.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
