Title: Hebrews 11:19 and the metaphoric rising from the dead, in the Bible
Post by: QuranSearchCom on January 16, 2013, 11:01:47 AM
As'salamu Alaikum everyone,

Here is the verse in question:

Hebrews 11:19
19 Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.

Yet, Isaac wasn't physically dead.  "Rose from the dead" is not a literal expression, in the Bible.  It is metaphoric, and had always been metaphoric.  This is further elaborated on at: http://www.answering-christianity.com/blog/index.php/topic,799.msg2345.html#msg2345.

Also, watch Dr. Zakir Naik's debate on Jesus' crucifixion where he thoroughly demonstrated from the New Testament that Jesus Christ never died, nor was he crucified:  www.answering-christianity.com/convert_christians.htm.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
