I was told that the verses which are somehow contradicting in the quran are abrogated and the verse which reveals later is acceptable
like 4:15 and 24:2.......some scholars say that there is no abrogation.....someone plz answer this.thanks

Someone else probably will have a better answer to this.
This issue, apparently, like many other issues, is one with great scholarly difference of opinion.

Abrogation of recited verses that were totally replaced with something better are recorded in hadiths for reference.
There are also abrogation of verses but both abrogated and new verses are still kept in recitation.
