In Islam / Deficiency
« on: November 24, 2012, 12:52:07 PM »
in bukhari Vol. 1, Book 6, Hadith 301
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
Once Allah's Messenger () went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) o `Id-al-Adha or Al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, "O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women)." They asked, "Why is it so, O Allah's Messenger () ?" He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you." The women asked, "O Allah's Messenger () ! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn't it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?" The women replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her religion."

نُقْص and its contemperaries (نَاقِصَاتِ and نُقْصَانِ) are actually more accurately translated into reduction not deficiency. In fact will call minus in arabic نَاقِصَ. YOu shouldinclude this in your article

Cults & Deviant Beliefs / Radicals and extremists
« on: November 23, 2012, 12:35:39 PM »
maybe ac could have a section dedicated to refuting extremist or fundemental claims, eg. it is forbidden to watch TV, listen to music, not be friends with non muslims, kill non believers, all hadith are correct, take the literal meaning etc. I know you have articles but do u have a section.
maybe give advice on how you could stop this
ps on your "adult suckling" article, you should add this hadith that shows that this was a unique case
Umm Salama, the wife of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him), used to say that all wives of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) disclaimed the idea that one with this type of fosterage (having been suckled after the proper period) should come to them. and said to 'A'isha:
By Allah, we do not find this but a sort of concession given by Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) only for Salim, and no one was ging to be allowed to enter (our houses) with this type of fosterage and we do not subscribe to this view.

Media / Languages

Don't you think that Answering Christianity's articles (even the whole website if possible) should be translated into languages, perhaps Arabic, Persian, Mandarin. Since only 15% of the world could understand English at this level. What do you think? If yes, what languages do you think it should be translated into, the priority ones first.

Hadiths & Sunna, and Prophet Muhammad's Person / Contradictions Pictures
« on: November 18, 2012, 12:08:23 PM »
I read two articles, each one is concerned with picture making (whether, drawing, photography, painting, etc.), one said all types of picture-making is wrong (except in legal documents and wanted posters), the other said that it is OK depending on the purpose, they are both backed up with Quranic verses and hadith. Can you guys read both and tell which one is true
the articles are:                                   this one said it is permissible                                                                           This one said it is forbidden

I am asking this because i like to gatherings and take pictures for memory.

Hadiths & Sunna, and Prophet Muhammad's Person / Muhammad and hafsa

This hadith says that muhammad lay with maria on hafsa's day on her (Hafsa's) bed, im a native arabic speaker. is this hadith true?
This is from sunan al nasai sometimes called sunan al sughra, one of the 6 hadith collections (Al-Kutub Al-Sittah‎)

Bukhari Volume 3, Book 43, Number 648
This hadith has been getting on my nerves, I know Answering Christianity has done a rebuttal response on Ali Sina's theory that this Hadith proves that women before islam had more rights than women after islam. I seriously didn't understand when ANswering islam replied, can someone please clarify for me?
