to be updated

~12000 BCE
Adam
Reason: Earliest known civilization (we have VERY tiny evidence of Adam, most of it is faith)

~3000 BCE
Noah
Reason: Date of the great flood of Ur
Werner Keller, Und die Bibel hat doch recht (The Bible as History; a Confirmation of the Book of Books)

~1800 B.C
Lot
Reason: Archaeological estimates
http://www.islamicity.com/science/QuranAndScience/destruction/GeneratedFilesnoframe/ThePeopleofLutandTheCitywhichwasTurnedUpsideDown.htm

~2000 BCE
Abraham
Reason: Genesis 11, part of the bible, says Abraham extended his family to a city known as Ur. I know you guys will be surprised at this, but the bible is actually really accurate in describing the early prophets, kind of like a history book. Sumerian tabs have confirmed the story of Abraham.

~1200 BCE
Moses
Reason: Ipuwer Papyrus which describes the 10 plagues, ancient Egyptian glyphs describing Haman, Firaun's body. Admonitions of Ipuwer

7 to 2 BCE
Jesus
Reason:
Paul L. Maier "The Date of the Nativity and Chronology of Jesus" in Chronos, kairos, Christos: nativity and chronological studies by Jerry Vardaman, Edwin M. Yamauchi 1989 ISBN 0-931464-50-1 pages 113-129

~300 CE
Unnamed prophet sent to the Sabaeans
Reason:
Hommel, Explorations in Bible Lands (Philadelphia: 1903), 739.

400 to 600 CE
Unnamed messengers sent to al-Hijr
Reason:
Phillip Hitti, A History of the Arabs (London: Macmillan: 1970), 37

~600 CE
Mohammed
Reason:
Elizabeth Goldman (1995), p. 63 gives 8 June 632, the dominant Islamic tradition. Many earlier, mainly non-Islamic traditions refer to him as still alive at the time of the invasion of Palestine. See Stephen J. Shoemaker,The Death of a Prophet: The End of Muhammad's Life and the Beginnings of Islam, University of Pennsylvania Press, 2011

Archaeological Evidence for the Flood

According to the archaeological findings, Nuh’s Flood took place on the Mesopotamian Plain, the shape of which was very different to that of today. The present-day limits of the plain are shown with a dotted red line in the above diagram. The wide region beyond that line is known to have been part of the sea at that time.

If you've heard about Gilgamesh before, well, remember, scripture was sent throughout the world before the Qur'an!
Microscopic analysis revealed that this great clay deposit beneath the hill at Ur had accumulated here as a result of a flood, one so large and powerful as to annihilate ancient Sumerian civilisation. The epic of Gilgamesh and the story of Nuh were united in this shaft dug deep under the Mesopotamian desert.

We see almost the same record of Noah's flood in Mesopotamian flood stories, the Puranas, Deucalion in Greek mythology, the Genesis flood narrative, and in the lore of the K'iche' and Maya peoples of Central America, and the Muisca people in South America.

This is probably the city Noah (PBUH) was sent to, since they were moon worshipers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ur

To be updated...

1) Firaun's body

2) The famine of Firaun

3) Egyptian afterlife belief: A balance in which the heart and a feather would be weighed (metaphorical)
4) Ancient Egyptian paintings show a man receiving a code of law from a mountain
5) The 10 commandments are in the Egyptian book of the dead
6) The statue of Thutmose II, looks Hebrew, not Egyptian
7) Mention of Haman in ancient Egyptian glyphs

Haman is mentioned in the Qur'an as the person who directed construction work under the command of the Pharaoh.
8) The splitting of the seas miracle:

From Amenamoni, head of the protective books of the white room of the palace, to the scribe Penterhor:

When this letter reaches you and has been read point by point, surrender your heart to the sharpest pain, like a leaf before the storm, when you learn of the sorrowful disaster of the drowning in the whirlpool…

Calamity struck him suddenly and inescapably. Depict the destruction of the lords, the lord of the tribes, the king of the east and the west. The sleep in the waters has made something helpless out of something great. What news can compare to the news I have sent you?

(British Museum, Egyptian Papyri No.6.)
9) Moses referred to as a magician in the Qur'an: Mentioned by scribes

This is written on the second day of the seventh month of Payni during the reign of Ramses, the elder brother of Ammon, the Sun's son who is the administrator of justice, and who lives eternally like his father, the Sun… When you receive this letter, rise, set to work and undertake the supervision of the fields. When you hear the news of a new misfortune such as a flood ruining the entire cereals, think. Hemton destroyed them by consuming them greedily, granaries are cracked, rats are clumped in fields, fleas are like hurricane, scorpions are eating up greedily, wounds caused by little flies are too many to count. And these grieve the people… The Scribe [probably referring to the Prophet Musa (as)] fulfilled the purpose to destroy the total amount of cereals… Sorceries are like their bread. Scribe… is the first of men in the art of writing.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Does Dajjal exist?
« on: March 02, 2013, 07:55:41 AM »
Just read this a while ago:
"There is no such thing as Mehdi, at least not that can be supported through the Quran. These type of myths were created to discourage people from focusing on rational autonomy and encouraged to forever wait for a savior to deliver them from their problems, almost all of those problems invariably are tied to shunning of responsibilities by the very people who propagated these myths.

Needless to say, there is no reference of a Dajjal in the primary document Quran. Imagine that, neither is return of Jesus and of course a Mehdi etc. These myths have its origins in the notion of the Antichrist and is clearly a borrowed notion from Christian Church doctrines. The Muslim sources that propagate these myth are full of contradictions and in reference to Dajjal it fails to even determine as to which of his eye is defective, mind you these are the easy ones to call out."

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Evolution in a nutshell
« on: March 02, 2013, 05:25:13 AM »
We all know that in the 7th century, scholars like Al-Jahiz mentioned evolution in his Kitab-al-Hayawan or The book of animals. He talked about natural selection. It wasn't until the 1800s when some racist white Christian amateur went "HEY! I THINK BLACK PEOPLE ARE JUST LINKS BETWEEN CAUCASIANS AND GORILLAS!"

He literally said that baboons, gorillas, Australians (the aborigines), and black people (called negroes in his text) interbred with Caucasians to give African Americans. Read it to discover!

At some future period not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilised races of man will almost certainly exterminate and replace the savage races (implying black people) throughout the world. At the same time the anthropomorphous apes...will no doubt be exterminated. The break between man and his nearest Allies will then be wider, for it will intervene between man in a more civilised state, as we may hope, even than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as the baboon, instead of as now between the Negro or Australian and the gorilla

(1874, p. 178).

The unicorn is mentioned nine times in the bible. Job 39:9-10, Deuteronomy 33:17, Numbers 23:22 and 24:8; Psalms 22:21, 29:6 and 92:10; and Isaiah 34:7

In Harry Potter (if you haven't read it), the creature Re'em is often described as a form of unicorn or giant horse whose blood was rare. It and its blood are mentioned in the Bible.

EVIL DRAGONS
"And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads." (Revelation 12:3)

"And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority." (Revelation 13:2)

"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (Revelation 12:9)

"And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast..." (Revelation 13:4)

"And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty." (Revelation 16:13-14)

"Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? None is so fierce that dare stir him up..." (Job 41:9-10)

"Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about." (Job 41:14)

"Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. (Job 41:19-21)

"And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years." (Revelation 20:2)

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Should medical marijuana be banned
« on: February 17, 2013, 07:14:51 AM »
If you say yes you better give a good reason.

Banning Marijuana because it
1) Cures cancer and AIDS
2) Will screw up our corrupt health care system (grown at home medicine)
the Roman Catholic
Church banned medical marijuana during
the Dark Ages

Todd Mccormick was given six months, diagnosed with cancer. His mom gave him marijuana and while the rest of the people were soggy from the chemo, Todd fought and is still fighting today. He cross bred many variations and eventually ended up labeling a use for each (including one for cancer). The DEA came and took it all. Cost for bailing out someone caught using medical marijuana (1900s): 500k. Cost for bailing murderers out: 50k. Hmm...

Annual drug and alcohol deaths in the
United States:
Tobacco ……....450,000
Alcohol …..…...100,000
Prescriptions......100,000
Aspirin…..............1,000
Marijuana....................0

Before you bring up "omg dangerous addictive", alcohol kills more than weed and has no medical advantages whatsoever. People abuse eating and die of heart diseases, should we ban food? According to American logic, yes.
Relics discovered in ancient pyramids
indicate that Egyptian physicians prescribed
medical marijuana for childbirth.

The first recorded evidence of medical
marijuana use appeared over 4,700 years
ago in the pharmacopoeia of Shen Nung,
one of the fathers of Chinese medicine. In
Persia 2,700 years ago, the prophet
Zoroaster wrote a sacred text listing 10,000
medicinal plants, with medical marijuana
at the top

The Abrahamic religions are the only religions which suggest burying their dead (other religions like Hinduism have cremation, sometimes even burning the wife alive).

The Neanderthals also built tools and conversed with each other, caring for the sick, and even healing them. It is obvious they had guidance from Adam (PBUH). We share more than 90% common DNA with Neanderthals. They even had their own language!

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Use of the word Shi'a in the Qur'an
« on: February 16, 2013, 08:28:16 AM »
Br. Osama has said that the Qur'an has prohibited the word "Shia". However, it is a broad term that is used throughout the Qur'an, most notably:
37:83 - And indeed, among his kind was Abraham
The Arabic of it uses the word Shia (source: Sahih International)

Qur'an 28:15 - And he entered the city at a time of inattention by its people and found therein two men fighting: one from his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. [Moses] said, "This is from the work of Satan. Indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy."
Once again, the Arabic version has the word "Shia".

So we see the word "Shia" is a broad term that is not be used as a label to divide the Muslims, as stated in verse 30:33.

Is playing chess at stakes gambling? I mean, it's not gambling if you know you're gonna win, according to my friends at least.

Dear Mr. Osama Abdullah,

On your site you said the information is free for our own uses, so I was wondering if I could write an eBook on it and sell it on Amazon.
