Title: Age of Earth in Islam ?
Post by: Ramihs97 on October 27, 2016, 06:19:34 AM
Is there any set period in Islam when Adam and Eve came ? What differs us from those Young Earth Creationists ?

"Had Adam been a Prophet?" Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) answered "Yes." The man asked "How much time passed between him and Noah?" Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) replied : "Ten Qarn" (Ibn Hibban, Hadith 6190)

^How authentic is that hadith above ? Or is it another Israelite creation ?

A thorough response would be greatly appreciated, brothers.

So no, Islam doesn't make the same error as Christianity. The Earth is clearly not 6K years old. If they bring up hadiths which say that the world is thousands of years old and that it will end at a specific year then tell them that Al-Qurtubi and other Islamic scholars have declared them to be fabricated.
