Assalamualykum
I was willing to know whether drawing is really illegitimate according to Islam or not? I have heard hadiths which state that it's illegitimate to draw animated objects as they are the creations of Allah Almighty. But again the same hadiths permit us to draw inanimate objects including mountains, trees, forests, seas, waterfalls, rivers, moon and so on. The confusion is here. Mountains, seas, trees and all these are also a part of Allah's creation. So how come it's illegitimate to draw animals, humans or other animated objects while it's legitimate to draw mountains, trees and other natural entities based on the fact that all these are the creations of Allah Almight?

different scholars have different opinion........dr shabbir ally says that the person who is drawing has no bad intention in his mind so it is permissible to draw even creatures......but dr zakir naik says that for educational purposes it is permissible but on other occassions it is not permissible to draw creatures.

modern opinion permit drawing living animals as long as the drawing is incomplete & not similar to the size of living creature

Asalam ul lakum, i hope i can make it simple brothers. Anything that carries a soul is haram to draw. For allah will tell you in the akaira to put your soul into it. For example, animals have a soul but mountain doesn't. Plants is a gray area and needs researching.

Sorry i have to correct you there, not living things, anything with a ROOH or a soul should not be drawn, so plants and bacteria and the sort is allowed to draw. However for educational purposes, without going overboard, it should be fine insh allah.
