The Nuri mosques, where Daesh (ISIS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declared an anti-Islamic caliphate, has been destroyed by militants.
Interestingly, not only they declared to destroy two holy mosques in Saudi Arabia, but they also destroyed their own mosques as well.
Nevertheless, the counter-terrorism intelligence claimed that the majority of Daesh fighters know nothing about Islam, and only 2% of Muslim terrorists were religious motivations. Frankly, the militants secretly used alcohol and drugs because they were criminal and uneducated. For instance, Daesh's mastermind drank whiskey after the Paris attack in 2015.
Currently, the Iraqi army are closing to the Nuri mosque, which should be a great news for Muslims in Eid holiday. This is not the first time that the Iraqi army defeats Daesh in 21th century. In 1810s, the Ottoman Empire sent tens of thousands of Muslim warriors to the Arabian Peninsula to crush the Wahhabi extremists.
