The big questions on whether or not God exists. I was reading up on the big bang theory and suddenly came across this at the end of the website.

http://www.allaboutphilosophy.org/does-god-exist-c.htm

Could some of the brothers with strong faith take a look at this and give their refutations ? Or am I just extremely paranoid..

Sorry if spewing my emotions on the board is irritating any of you...

I found this good site from an ex-atheist now Muslim. Good help for the Muslims in doubt.

http://seemyparadigm.webs.com/evolution.htm

http://seemyparadigm.webs.com/thebigbang.htm

https://www.iera.org/gods-testimony-inimitability-divine-authorship-quran/

(EVENTHO this is from Hamza Tzortzis. He completely SHUTS DOWN the claim that our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w wrote the Qur'an) For example 82% of the Qur'anic words are UNTRACEABLE in Muhammad s.a.w hadiths !

Another site further embarrassing The Bibles shenanigans:

I haven't checked the Qur'an yet but here is proof he wasn't born on the 25th as they made it seem.

According to the Catholic Encyclopedia:

“Concerning the date of Christ’s birth the Gospels give no help; upon their data contradictory arguments are based. The census would have been impossible in winter: a whole population could not then be put in motion. Again, in winter it must have been; then only field labour was suspended. But Rome was not thus considerate. Authorities moreover differ as to whether shepherds could or would keep flocks exposed during the nights of the rainy season.”   http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03724b.htm

http://www.biblicalarchaeology.org/daily/biblical-topics/new-testament/how-december-25-became-christmas/

When King Constantine converted to Christianity in the fourth century, he had quite a challenge ahead of him with regard to converting an empire full of pagans.  It was therefore decided to celebrate the birth of Jesus on a date that was already sacred according to pagan traditions. So as a compromise with paganism and in an attempt to give the pagan holidays Christian significance, it was simply decided that the birthday of the Sun God would also be the birthday of the Son of God. The Catholic Encyclopedia quotes an early Christian with saying, "O, how wonderfully acted Providence that on that day on which that Sun was born.... Christ should be born".

Also, to relate Islam to paganism behaviour makes me greatly question the intellect of the atheist who made this post. As an ex-atheist myself, you usually try to rationalise with the given empirical evidence in an objective fashion.

Would it make sense to to generalise all of Africa in the same bucket as having the same culture and morals? Is Egypt,Morocco and Algeria 100% identical to Swaziland, Ghana South Africa?

Seems to me like this buffoon chose atheism as a "feel good" route to not have to worry about life's hard questions. In addition, if he truly were one. He wouldn't be wasting his time on a muslim blog. Could it be Depression? Generalised Anxiety Disorder? Your rationale for disputing against Islam makes me feel like you're intimidated by it so you're going out of your way to slander it. Worst of all you could be a Christian since your idiotic claim is not usually up to-par with an atheist academic's standard.

The fact that you even have to go as far as proudly labeling yourself as an atheist proves to me you could also be suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder and Identity problems with no sense of self. The arrogance, self-righteousness, and derogatory language employed to describe those who do not ascribe to their worldview are all signs of total lack of introspection. This may very well be a defense mechanism, because once one engages in such self-questioning, doubts will follow. It is in certainty that fundamentalists find solace. On a personal note.

Explain the emergence of consciousness out of cosmology.
Explain the evolution of human language.
Explain where has objective morality sprouted out of.
Explain why the universe isn't static as previously thought by your atheist academics and is actually finite with a beginning which will eventually come to an end?

Don't even bother answering them because the same "Atheist academics" we watched who eventually turn agnostic cannot even answer them. But rather, give terrible explanations. Myself, As a person keen on science, you Darwin wanna-bees make me giggle lol. None of you have even stepped into a science lab nor have read any research papers. New Atheists have constructed an intellectual scene for themselves that excludes everyone but New Atheists, which has made them into a “full-throated cult.”  New Atheism and fundamentalism present us with two totalities: closed, one dimensional, and incommensurable systems of thought, neither capable of persuading the other nor anyone else not already party to their assumptions,

Good day, gentlemen.

@Muslim1 When you say it with the Hadiths and other translations it makes sense. But when they say "it reaches its stopping point" is ridiculous!

It makes it sound like the sun stops when it's constantly orbiting as the succeeding verses say !

Well i found this

Its fixed course is beneath the Throne.)'' (The second view) is that this refers to when the sun's appointed time comes to an end, which will be on the Day of Resurrection, when its fixed course will be abolished, it will come to a halt and it will be rolled up. This world will come to an end, and that will be the end of its appointed time. This is the fixed course of its time. Qatadah said:

﴿لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَّهَـا﴾

(on its fixed course for a term (appointed).) means, "It has an appointed time and it will not go beyond that.'' It was also said that this means, it keeps moving in its summer orbit for a certain time, and it does not exceed that, then it moves to its winter orbit for a certain time, and it does not exceed that. This was narrated from `Abdullah bin `Amr, may Allah be pleased with him. Ibn Mas`ud and Ibn `Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them, recited this Ayah as: (وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لَامُسْتَقَرَّ لَهَا) (And the sun runs with no fixed course for a term,) meaning that it has no destination and it does not settle in one place, rather it keeps moving night and day, never slowing down or stopping, as in the Ayah:

﴿وَسَخَّر لَكُمُ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ دَآئِبَينَ﴾

(And He has made the sun and the moon, both constantly pursuing their courses, to be of service to you) (14:33). which means, they will never slow down or stop, until the Day of Resurrection.

Then why the hell would the sahih international write it as towards "its stopping point" ??!?!?

Also, although ibn kathir referred to it being on judgement day,why doesnt it say so in the surah ?

Help needed guys

Is there any set period in Islam when Adam and Eve came ? What differs us from those Young Earth Creationists ?

"Had Adam been a Prophet?" Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) answered "Yes." The man asked "How much time passed between him and Noah?" Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) replied : "Ten Qarn" (Ibn Hibban, Hadith 6190)

^How authentic is that hadith above ? Or is it another Israelite creation ?

A thorough response would be greatly appreciated, brothers.

The following was taken from Wikipedia :

In ancient Roman culture, Sunday was the day of the Sun god. It was adopted as the Sabbath day by Christians who did not have a Jewish background. The symbol of light was a pagan device adopted by Christians, and perhaps the most important one that did not come from Jewish traditions. In paganism, the Sun was a source of life, giving warmth and illumination to mankind. It was the center of a popular cult among Romans, who would stand at dawn to catch the first rays of sunshine as they prayed. The celebration of the winter solstice (which influenced Christmas) was part of the Roman cult of the unconquered Sun (Sol Invictus). Christian churches were built with an orientation so that the congregation faced toward the sunrise in the East.

Is this why Robert Morey created the hysteria around Moon god ? To draw attention away from this ?

Osama, you might want to add that quote from el rasool pbuh since it is a plain and clear evident truth as to beating the wife lightly with no sugar coating (which i also thought was the case)

@Submit Thanks bro, but what about the puberty question? How could it apply to Aisha r.a? as in how do we know from her that she has menstruated and became an adolescent ?

Guys, Question.

Does Surah 4:6 imply we can only consummate marriage until we reach puberty? Or is it only for orphans ?

The word used is balagho. From my knowledge Balagho and Baloogh both mean puberty. However, in linguistics. Does the word balgho flow with the context or would it be taken out of proportion ? The only translators that used the words Puberty were Shakir and the Italian translation of the Qur'an.

Extremely controversial topic that will always be taken out of context. Some (a lot aka Christians and Dawkins) will take it out of context implying that Men have the right and left to knock their wives out Mike Tyson style. However, the Qur'an is obviously referring to it as ONE of the last resorts before divorcing a very abusive,ill-conducted wife. (The other resort being just divorce)

Now, I have always wondered. Is the beating to be taken literal? Or is there another meaning? Both sides could make sense.

However, the true question remaining is that if we were to truly beat.. what fashion should it be in? Darab makes it very vague in a sense.
Translators have always used "Lightly" Many critics accused Muslims of "arbitrarily cherry-picking" as the word lightly does not appear. But we actually do have proof that it is indeed Lightly and there is no shame from the side of the translators.

Guillaume’s translation of Ibn Ishaq's "Sirat Rasulallah":
"You have rights over your wives, and they have rights over you. You have the right that they should not defile your bed and that they should not behave with open unseemliness. If they do, God allows you to put them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not with severity. If they refrain from these things and obey you, they have right to their food and clothing with kindness. Lay injunctions on women kindly, for they are your wards having no control of their persons."
“The Life of Muhammad”, Oxford, 1955, page 651. (Translation of one of the earliest accounts of prophet Muhammad, apparently written about 150 years after his death)

Straight from the Man who the words of the Qur'an were revealed to from Gibril.

Might i remind you that the Prophet mentioned LIGHTLY beat them to the wives WHO DEFILE YOUR BED.

Defile : To violate the chastity of.

Basically the wife who sleep with another man.

If this is not mercy then i don't know what is. Maybe this Hadith could have saved O.J Simpson from trial lol.
