Creation of Seven heavens and Earth
« on: August 12, 2017, 01:04:50 AM »
What do u think of following?
In islam we believes that Allah created seven heavens and same number of earths. In most articles and here too i have read that seven earths are created in space  (also there is seven layers on earth).
In quran chapter 21 verse 30, when allah speaks about big bang ,it says seven heavens and earth were once joined together. Here allah uses Seven heavens which is plural and earth in singular and never mentioned as it is seven. Also we have ayas to prove that after bigbang and after setting earth allah divided heaven to seven which means that seven heavens are in this same universe.Or even if we translate the seven heavens into seven universes it means that these mentioned seven heavens are all formed from a single bigbang in which allah used only a single earth( singular in 21:30).
I am in a doubt that why allah didnt use seven earths while the almighty used seven heavens. And he mentioned seven earths in a different manner instead of saying directly. "It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof " .Is this simply means that allah created seven layers of earth rather than seven earths in space.

As'salamu Alaikum,

Welcome to the board, Asim.  Insha'Allah, you'll find your questions thoroughly answered here.

The Glorious Quran doesn't say 7 earths.  There are billions of times more earths than 7.  This had been thoroughly addressed at:

www.answering-christianity.com/earth.htm#how_many_earths
www.answering-christianity.com/earth.htm
www.answering-christianity.com/ac20.htm#links

Also regarding the Big Bang, continuous Expansion, and Cosmic Crunch, they're all mentioned in the Glorious Quran:

Take care,
Osama Abdallah

I think that u wrote the above mentioned article to prove that there are several corresponding earths to each heaven. Now,  my doubt is that in the verse 21:30  allah never used seven earth/corresponding earths. But Almighty Allah just used EARTH and seven HeavenS. Is this means only one earth has been formed during the mentioned bigbang?

Brother, there is no doubt.
The prophet (PBUH) said: (Whoever usurps even one span of the land, his neck will be encircled because of it with seven earths) [narrated by Al Bukhari].

As'salamu Alaikum dear brothers,

Please visit the link that I gave above: www.answering-christianity.com/earth.htm .  I've proven with many Noble Verses that earth is both singular and plural.  The Glorious Quran says there are many EARTH, and had always said it EARTH.

Ard (earth) in Arabic is both singular and plural as the following English words are also both singular and plural:

Cattle
Caribou
Elk
Fish
Flour
Ice
Furniture
Jeans
Scissors
Sheep
Wood
You
Bison

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
