"8:60 commands Muslims to fight against Non believers"

First of all 8:61 says
8:61 "And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing."

And the tafsir says:

Tafsir Ibn Kathir

“The Command to Facilitate Peace when the Enemy seeks a Peaceful Resolution
Allah says, if you fear betrayal from a clan of people, then sever the peace treaty with them, so that you both are on equal terms. If they continue being hostile and opposing you, then fight them, (But if they incline), and seek, (to peace), if they resort to reconciliation, and seek a treaty of non-hostility, (you also incline to it), and accept offers of peace from them. This is why when the pagans inclined to peace in the year of Hudaybiyah and sought cessation of hostilities for nine years, between them and the Messenger of Allah he accepted this from them, as well as, accepting other terms of peace they brought forth. `Abdullah bin Al-Imam Ahmad recorded that `Ali bin Abi Talib said that the Messenger of Allah said, (There will be disputes after me, so if you have a way to end them in peace, then do so.) Allah said next,
(and trust in Allah. ) Allah says, conduct a peace treaty with those who incline to peace, and trust in Allah. Verily, Allah will suffice for you and aid you even if they resort to peace as a trick, so that they gather and reorganize their forces…” [3]

"8;12 commands to strike off fingertips, etc"

And about 8:12,read 8:19 it clearly says its about self defense

8:19:"If you [disbelievers] seek the victory - the defeat has come to you. And if you desist [from hostilities], it is best for you; but if you return [to war], We will return, and never will you be availed by your [large] company at all, even if it should increase; and [that is] because Allah is with the believers."

"The hadith said the Prophet(saw) had been made victorious with terror"

And on the hadith read its context, yes Hadith has context too, sayings on this hadith is listed below:

Volume 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 220

Narrated By Abu Huraira : Allah's Apostle said, "I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand." Abu Huraira added: Allah's Apostle has left the world and now you, people, are bringing out those treasures (i.e. the Prophet did not benefit by them).

I dont know why this "arab" not quote it whole, but I will leave it at you all to decide.

"Muhammad(SAW) also said that I have been helped with terror"

After looking at the Arabic text, the translation is done completely wrong. The Arabic word is ruebay, which DOES NOT mean terror but AWE. I’ve attached the original Arabic text (see bottom of post) and put a box around two words, which mean ‘helped with awe.’

If you lookup the word Awe in an English dictionary, you will learn that it means:

noun

1. a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder."they gazed in awe at the small mountain of diamonds"
verb

1. inspire with awe."they were both awed by the vastness of the forest"
The real translation of the Hadith is "I've been helped with awe" and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was talking about himself personally not about Islam.

The ruebay used by the Prophet was that of his character, his morals, his spirituality, his promoting the virtues of forgiveness.

You cannot simply take one quote of what he said and base your suppositions on Islam's victory. You need to look at the life of the prophet and see how he behaved with people. He did not terrorize or coerce them into becoming Muslim. The prophet saw Islam spread the most after the treaty of Hudaibiya (Peace between Mecca and Medina) and this treaty was breached by the Meccans. Even after Mecca was conquered, a general amnesty was declared. So Islam does not owe it's success to terrorism.

I urge you to take basic study of Islam under consideration. Here are some resources that are unbiased and will help you formulate a solid understanding. Any library in North America can help you obtain them:
