Alleged contradiction in the Quran
« on: September 23, 2017, 09:12:55 AM »
Assalamu alaikum everyone.

Sorry if I annoyed anyone. But I couldn't find an answer for this.

There were some people who were claiming that there was a contradiction in the Quran due to this:

Remember thou saidst to the Faithful: "Is it not enough for you that Allah should help you with three thousand angels (Specially) sent down?

(3:124)

and

Remember ye implored the assistance of your Lord, and He answered you: "I will assist you with a thousand of the angels, ranks on ranks."

(8:9)

Is there any way to respond?

Jazzakallah for answers.

Let’s see :

Chapter 8 verse 9 :”Remember ye implored the assistance of your Lord, and He answered you: "I will assist you with a thousand of the angels, ranks on ranks."
Here God speaks, and reminds the companions of the prophet (PBUH) of his help in the battle of Badr.

Chapter 3, verse 124 :”Remember thou saidst to the Faithful: "Is it not enough for you that Allah should help you with three thousand angels (Specially) sent down?”
Here God speaks but reminds Muhammed (PBUH) of what he _i.e. Muhammed_ said to his companions, and what didn’t happen “sending angels” in the battle of Uhud, due to Muslims’ failure to follow orders.

So, the first verse talks about battle of Badr, and the second verse is about battle of Uhud; so no contradiction.

Maybe you had also went across “The Mased Arab’s Video”.

I onced had same issue, so what i did was searched in Urdu translation of Quran because i could trust and understand it better.

In addition of 3:123–124 we know about 3 thousand and 5 thousand that in second one Allah SWT said he could have send 5 thousand angels.

Now to 8:9 and 3:124…

You see in 8:9 it says

[Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, "Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another."

Here Allah said that he ANSWERED his dua by saying that for believers Allah would sent thousands of angels..and then in 3:124 we saw that Allah did what was promised.

Surely he is All Powerful and All Knowing and Best of Planners…

Stop
