Question on Jesus
« on: January 31, 2018, 09:55:20 AM »
Salam brother I want to ask a question. We know in Islam Jesus spoke when he was a baby declaring himself to be the messenger of allah but there aren't any historical evidences for this surely a talking baby would be something so remarkable it had to be recorded in some sort of history ?

Assalam alaikum

1 - The New Testament Gospel of Mark, though considered by Church scholars to be the oldest of the Gospels, was not written by a disciple of Jesus.  Biblical scholars concluded, based on the evidence contained in the Gospel, that Mark himself was not a disciple of Jesus.  Furthermore, according to them, it is not even certain who Mark really was. The ancient Christian author, Eusebius (325 C.E.), reported that another ancient author, Papias (130 C.E.), was the first to attribute the Gospel to John Mark, a companion of Paul.

Although Matthew, Luke and John are the names of disciples of Jesus, the authors of the Gospels bearing their names were not those famous disciples, but other individuals who used the disciples’ names to give their accounts credibility. In fact, all the Gospels originally circulated anonymously. Authoritative names were later assigned to them by unknown figures in the early church.

(The New Encyclopaedia Britannica, vol. 14)

2- The Infancy Gospel of Thomas's Account of Prophet Jesus (alahyi salaam)'s birth:

"... Jesus spake when he was in the cradle, and said to his mother: "Mary, I am Jesus the Son of God, the Word, which thou didst bring forth according to the declaration of the angel Gabriel, and My Father hath sent me for the salvation of the world."

Just because the Infancy Gospel was authored in the second century that does not exclude the possibility that it might have included stories circulating during the first century.

However, there is much doubt surrounding this book and where it has obtained its information from:
No final judgment about the original form and content is possible.
Even if the earliest version of this gospel remains uncertain (Helmut Koester, Ancient Christian Gospels, page 311-312)
The individual stories themselves, however, may derive from the end of the first century-though there is no possibility of proving so early an origin for any of them. (F. Lapham, An Introduction to the New Testament Apocrypha, page 129)

Allah knows best

Chapter XLII.-The Order of Ministers in the Church :

"The apostles have preached the Gospel to us from177 the Lord Jesus Christ; Jesus Christ [has done so] from God."

Source: http://www.tertullian.org/fathers2/ANF-01/anf01-05.htm

Sorry brother but it still don't feel as tho I reached a statisfacory answer. Why would the Christian's change Jesus's words to I am the son of god from I am the messenger of god ?

They were called Sons of GOD:

As'salamu Alaikum dear brothers,

I've proven it many times before already, from the Glorious Quran, that Jews and Christians were called "Sons of GOD", and Allah Almighty did Say in the Glorious Quran also that He made to each their own "Religion and way" (different Islams):

www.answering-christianity.com/trinity_crucified.htm#servants_and_son
www.answering-christianity.com/islam.htm
www.answering-christianity.com/blessed_jesus.htm
www.answering-christianity.com/was_muta_immoral.htm

Allah Almighty, however, showed that the "Son of God" title is no more than a title of honor for pious servants.  This is also in the Bible, where Jesus is called ABD (SLAVE) OF GOD.  Jesus could not possibly be ABD and THE CREATOR of the Universe at the same time.  He is no more than an honored creation of GOD Almighty.  Now of course, Jesus is the Messiah and a Prophet and Messenger of GOD Almighty.  Also in the NT, Jesus is called Servant (SLAVE) of GOD:

www.answering-christianity.com/jesus_called_slave_in_bible.htm
www.answering-christianity.com/trinity_crucified.htm#servants_and_son

So the use of "son of GOD" back then was synonymous with servant of GOD Almighty.

I hope this helps, insha'Allah.  Trinity is a lie from Hell.

Take care,
Osama Abdallah
