Hafs and Warsh qiraat not Mutawatir?
« on: January 16, 2017, 05:47:11 PM »
Assalamu alaykum brothers and sisters. I have a question. We all know the story of ways of recitation and how they came to be etc. As we know, to conclude that a qiraat or form of recitation is genuine there are certain requirements, one of which healthy transmission from scholar to student and so on. I would like to dearly apologize for not providing the non-Muslim argument itself as Ive lost the thread/site where it came from, however the Hafs qiraat, which 80% of the Muslims use today has a chain of transmission but only one, and we know for a hadith or qiraat to be genuine two or more chains of transmission need to be present. Also, one of the greatest scholars of Hafs was Hafs Ibn Sulayman, yet some reports say he was a liar, who used to change and manipulate with the hadith so he cannot be trusted regarding qiraat. My question is were there deally only one chain of people who transmitted this qiraat or were there more? Please ya akhis, if possible, provide evidence within hadith or related work.
May Allah be pleased with you, Assalamu Alaykum.
