Magic here is probably not the proper translation for Sihr, you could probably even catagorize the miracles of prophet's or even magic tricks, such as pulling a rabit out of a hat as magic.
I think the proper translation should be witchcraft or devilcraft or black magic, im  not sure which is the right term in english because im not a native english speaker, so you know that it is associated with the devil.
But what you mean by "poisoning our children's minds"?
If you mean those entertaining tv kid shows movies or books like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, I thnk they are there for teh sole lurpose of entertainment, I agree with with Tanveer and There is Only One God in the fact there is no such thing as magic, as in people are born can do certain extraordinary things, or by saying certain words you can do things, however, there os such thing as devilcraft, by which you mock and humuliate islam and destroy it by collaborating with the devil himself and the DEVIL will do the work, not you, thatis the difference between devilcraft and magic.
It is also impossible to know if someone is collaborating with the devil, only God can know, thats why most people who are executed for sorcery are innocent, many in saudi.
I am a fan of magic tricks by means such as optical illusions.
Yeah, i think the word witchcraft best explains sihr. Magic is a very broad term.

Hi Tanveer thanks for your post.

I know that they will realise this when they grow up , but in Turkey , disobedience to Allah so big that you won't believe me if i say people in Turkey worships Allah and his creation(which i will not give his name) at the sime time.

And portraying magic the way it is something different in art , i mean , magic is a bad thing , but it is portrayed as something beautiful , so i wanted to make something different and not repeat the same mistakes as the others did.

And we need to educate our people , and art is a very good means of educating , its art , its scientific , but most important , you are making it in the name of Allah and to spread his word. And Allah also loves those who study science and serve him.
Hi Koray.
You raised some very good points. I cant find any fault with them lo. :P

Hi foray.
I personally always cringe over all this so called poisoning of minds. When the children grow up they will realise there's no such thing as good magic and theyll probably never come across magic so all this 'purifying' is pointless.

Hi my brothers and sisters , thanks for this great site.I'm from Turkey and we don't have that much elaborate information in our native language on the net so i wanted to say thanks.I'm studying English Language and Literature and working on a comic book project.I'm writing it with Islam taken into consideration because that is something different in the world of comics and though Turkey's population is %99 Muslim , finding art with Islam taken into consideration On TVs , Cinemas and Books is a rare thing.
I Chose a female protagonist because i wanted to express the idea of Muslim Women must not wear revealing clothes and produced(I dont like to use word "created" because i'm not capable of creating something in any way) a female mentor to guide her in the corrupted world we live in.

I Chose Deccal to be antagonist because Deccal is an adversary you cannot win against with mere  physical strength and been searching extensively in any source i can on him.

Enough of me :) , I wanted to ask something to you , are you guys Muslims living in a Muslim Country or Muslims Living in a Christian Community or Muslims that converted to Islam ?

Sorry If I'm Too Curious , i didn't wanted to hurt your feelings.
Hey Koray, how are you? Im British Bengali muslim and proud.

WRONG!!! It's because you were born into filthy indoctrination. You didn't choose this. It's because you were born into the post Constantine's (evil Roman warlord) empire. Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant between us and God. "
He shed his blood so that we may be rid of our sins."
It's a meaningless sacrifice if I wasn't even born back then. The Sun was considered to be the only begotten Son of God, in Greek: Hueios and Helios, Sun and Son. Sol Invictus, the unconquered Sun, celebrated on Dec. 25.

"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned"
Baptism isn't new to Christianity. Oh and btw, The Sun was 'baptized' by Aquarius, the water bearer, in January. Most Christian sects celebrate the "baptism of Jesus" in January, the Aquarius constellation is in January! Oh and, do aborted babies go to hell according to that verse?

Hi brother,

I did read the explanation on the site but it was not satisfactory.

Surah 23:14 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators!

To me this means a skeleton was created first and then clothed with flesh; I cannot see any other interpretation. However, I do see that depending on the version/translation, it varies. [http://www.answering-islam.org/Quran/Versions/023.014.html] Some say that the flesh came first, then the bone from the lump of flesh and then the flesh to clothe the bone but that is not the same as it being simultaneous.

May God bless you.
Ah I see. Well I hope you get an answer. I don't know anything on embryology lol.

Hi Jesus.breadoflife. I just looked up your question on Quran 23: 14 and someone else asked that same question word for word on IslamToday. Maybe you should look at that article.

What Hadith show that the first four Caliphs were and in this order-

Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali ?

Or each one being appointed by the previous one?

And how do we determine that they were all within the best first three generations?

nope, you have to guess. and make sure your guess doesn't get you blown up. Also, if you guess the wrong successor you might be called a non-Muslim, so be VERY careful when guessing. If it was so straightforward, why would the Shiites and Sunnites continue to slice each other in half even to this day? Answer: politics. Yup, it's a politico-religious ideology. This contributed to the downfall of the Islamic golden age (apart from Crusades and Mongol conquests).
Im kinda confused by how the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs contributed to the downfall of the Islamic golden age. They helped to start it. The people who turned it into politics were the shias. They believe(d) in a monarchy. I do believe there is a hadith in Ibn Majah and Abu Dawood which says "Hold firmly to my example (sunnah) and that of the Rightly Guided Caliphs". As for their order and apointing. Like zulfiqar said, history.

I meant the politics, not the Caliphs. The Caliphs contributed to the progression, not the downfall, of the golden age. Oh btw, there's a reason Muhammad (PBUH) did not mention a successor: It's not important!
Shi'as will use Sahih Muslim, Chapter of the virtues of the companions, section of the virtues of Ali, 1980 Edition Pub. in Saudi Arabia, Arabic version, v4, p1873, Tradition #36 to cite the Ahlul-Bayt as successors, whereas Sunnis will cite the democratic side of things. The Qur'an precisely says democracy. I smell a contradiction.
The confusion has cleared up a bit now. A question if you dont mind me asking. Do you believe the title Rightly Guided Caliphs is justifiable? And do you agree with the Shia line of thinking or sunni? I always thought the Prophet PBUH didnt choose a successor because people might start to think too highly of the appointed one. I know its not important for you but could you tell me your reason as to why he didnt choose a successor? :P

He didn't choose a successor for either one of these two reasons:
1) He wanted us to fight each other to the death for it
2) He thought it was a political issue, not a religious one. And I agree.
Ah. Thanks TIOOG. I think we can discard the 1st one. I find it hard to imagine the Prophet PBUH, the best example to mankind, would do something like that, ya know?
