even if they are oversized, at best they're perhaps just 8ft tall. ancient houses normally just need few living areas.

"I mean talk it into a historical point of view. Do you think that if the Muslims won they would have been spared? would think no, but that's what they gave their enemies." Actually the historical context of this passage tells us that Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and weren't even under attack by their Meccan adversaries. So it is once again, not defensive warefare, infact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city as i stated in my previous comment.

he agreed  and acknowledged that Muslims were merciful should they have won. This is due to the fact that Muslims at that time were not made of combatant  abled soldiers.

there are those who view it first built by prophet Adam a.s and some by prophet Ibrahim a.s. The first place of prostration on earth is to imitate the Baitul Makmur of the angels.
Some view even suggest the angels were the ones that built the structure first.

The tomb carvings doesnt show any sign of its ceiling collapse nor does it look in ruin. It is of a different generation.

There are 2 interpretation of Mi'raj of the prophet.
First only his soul ascends above.
Second being both soul and physical body ascend above. Most would go for the second opinion of Mi'raj.

does yemon or oman has traces of dwellings carved from rocks. if not, the thamuds and prophet Saleh a.s. were never there.
Also, any dwellings traces of thamud in land of al Hijr should be in ruins due to the destruction.

And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. (15:80)

Al Hijr is referring to a vast rocky land. Say the people of Al-HIjr were around 20,000 there should be at least are at least 5,000 households destroyed for their rejection of their messenger.

there are citations from book in Wiki that the place was called hegra in the past.

Roman era[edit]
In 106 AD, the Nabatean kingdom was annexed by the contemporary Roman Empire.[20][21] The Hejaz, which encompasses Hegra, became part of the Roman province of Arabia.[5]

The Hedjaz region was integrated into the Roman province of Arabia in 106 AD. A monumental Roman epigraph of 175-177 AD was recently discovered at al-Hijr (then called "Hegra" and now Mada'in Saleh).[5]

They were greater than them in strength and in impression on the land, but Allah seized them for their sins

The same question can be posed on how can those past generations be stronger than the Arab quraisy.

It is also of comparison of past people being mightier than the Arab Quraisy. Yet the Creator easily seize them. So will the Arab Quraisy take heed of the lesson or still not wanting to submit to the covenant brought by their prophet.

Quote
Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those who were before them? They were greater than them in strength and in impression on the land, but Allah seized them for their sins. And they had not from Allah any protector.
That was because their messengers were coming to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved, so Allah seized them. Indeed, He is Powerful and severe in punishment. 40:21-22

Quote
And when their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they [merely] rejoiced in what they had of knowledge, but they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule. And when they saw Our punishment, they said," We believe in Allah alone and disbelieve in that which we used to associate with Him." 40:83-84

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Re: Hindu claims

Kaaba was the House of worship rebuilt by prophet Abraham a.s and his son Ismail  a.s. The House was first built by prophet Adam a.s. None of them were Hindu. None of them worship humanoid-looking gods.

Hinduism claim that, originally all religion believe in polytheistm, but there is one paritcular deity that approach mankind and hence teaches them concept of prophethood , thru it the deity claimed his self as the only one God one creator.
