(Have you not seen how your Lord spread the shadow. If He willed, He could have made it still - But We have made the sun its guide, then We withdraw it to Us a gradual concealed withdrawal.) [Surat Al-Furqan, verses: 45, 46].

Okay I read an article where it is said that ''then We withdraw it to Us a gradual concealed withdrawal.'' indicates rotation of the Earth around the Sun. But how? Following is a portion of that article:

[In God's saying: (Have you not seen how your Lord spread the shadow. If He willed, He could have made it still - But We have made the sun its guide) an indication to the rotation of the earth around itself and the sun is the guide, i.e., the sun is the body that the movement is measured according to it.

And in His saying: (then We withdraw it to Us a gradual concealed withdrawal) an indication to the rotation of the earth around the sun because the length of the shadow changes not only in day and night but also according to the seasons of the year as the earth rotates around the sun and it inclines on its axis of rotation for about 23 degrees, therefore the length of the shadow varies due to the angle that the sunrays fall in.

These facts weren't known at the time of the descending of Quran, therefore these verses are considered to be a sign of the scientific miracles in the holy Quran, as they talked about the rotation of the earth around itself and around the sun.]

Assalamualykum.

1) Is there any verse in the Quran which hints that there many other moons and suns in our universe ?

2)Is there any verse which hints that Sun is much bigger than the Moon and Earth?

3)And lastly is there any verse that hints Earth is revolving around the Sun?

Assalamualykum.

at-Tahhawee reports in Mishkil al-Aathaar, that Salamah ibn Abdur Rahman said , ''Abu Hurayah told us Muhammad(PBUH)) said:

''The Sun and Moon will be two rolled-up bulls in Hell on the Day of Resurrection."
al-Baihaqi also reported this in ''al-Ba'th wal-Nushur as did al-Bazzaar, al-Isma'ili, al-Khattaabi with an insaad that it's Saheeh according to the conditions of al-Bukhari who reported in al-Saheeh al-Mukthasar, with the wording ''The Sun and Moon will be two rolled-up bulls in Hell on the Day of Resurrection." (Sheikh Naasir ud-Deen al-Albani narrated this hadith in Silsilah al-ahadeeth as-Saheehah, 1/32, hadith no:124)

I don't understand this Hadith. Another thing, is it comparing the size of the moon with that of the Sun? Moon is nothing compared to the Sun.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / WHO ARE ARABS?
« on: December 08, 2013, 04:17:06 AM »
Assalamualykum.

I just wanted to know if the black people from Africa and some Chinese looking people from Indonesia living in the Middle-East are also called Arab?  ??? ??? ??? Another question:

Are every Arabic speaking person considered Arab? And if a person is considered Arab by ancestry then it can be said that, now the Arab has become a mixed race. I have seen many Indians, Pakistanis, Afghans, Bangladeshis who exactly resemble the Arabs. And its obvious because many Arab merchants came to this region for business and settled down here permanently. They married the local women. I myself is an example of that. But I'm not sure whether my ancestors were Arabs, Persians or Turks. Maybe Persian or Turk or mixed!!!! ;D ;D ;D. Because the region from where I am from was under Persian and Turkish rule for almost 1000 years. Arabs mainly Iraqis were there in the southern region of the country. I'm from north.

I also read an article which says that the Jordanians, Syrians, Lebanese and Palestinians are not complete Arab by ancestry. But yes complete Arab by language.

"A day when the heaven with the clouds will be rent asunder, And the angels will be sent down, a grand descent." (Quran:25:25)

Can anyone explain me the above verse? What does '' the heaven with the clouds will be rent asunder'' mean?

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Re: WHY NO BISMILLAH IN SURAH TAUBA?

Assalamualykum.

I asked the same question to an Egyptian sister( MAY ALLAH BLESS HER) and following is what she said:

 ''wa alikom salam brother,
your questions are in sight, now let's figure them out:
-the sura tauba in fact has many other names, this emphasizes that it is separate, and why without bismillah, it's as u mentioned about the covenant with the infidels as they never make a faithful covenant.
but why in surat lahab, I may say: they 1st sura is an order to Prophet Muhammad, but the 2nd is about informing prophet Muhammad with something.. yet I may add that there's some hadith telling that this man, abu lahab was delighted with the birth of prophet Muhammad and sat free a slave woman for that, so in every Monday he is given some kind of mercy in Hell, I think it was a drink of water as I may remember!

subhanallah!''

I personally believe Palestine will develop a lot if it again gets a leader like Yaseer Arafat. It might become a role model for others.
But the only obstruction will be the Israeli Zionists.   >:( >:(

Zionist NATO forces are also killing our innocent Pakistani brothers along the border with Afghanistan in the name of terrorist by drone attacks on daily basis. >:( >:( Something same like Palestine. Same thing is happening in Afghanistan. Inshallah one day justice will be done.  :) :)

Assalamualykum.

Thanks brother Osama for sharing your past with us. ;D ;D ;D Sharing these things will help us to become more strong, friendly and united.

Brother, I was also in Kuwait for almost 4 years. People of Kuwait were nice. But I doubt whether they would have been nice in case of labors or low class workers because of their superiority complex. :-\ :-\

About settling down in Palestine, no problem at all. After finishing my graduate Inshallah I will settle down there or in any of the remaining 3 countries. Yes some might call me a fool for settling down in any country with instability. But I don't care at all. It's none of a headache to me. As long as people are good, religious and broad-minded it doesn't matter at all.

And about racism my opinion is, it will be abolished by the new educated generation Inshallah. And Muslims by themselves will soon feel the need of each other as time passes by.

May Allah bless us all. Ameen.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / WHY NO BISMILLAH IN SURAH TAUBA?
« on: December 01, 2013, 05:29:46 PM »
Assalamualykum.

Why there's no bismillah before chapter no-9 in the Quran?

When Hadrat Uthman رضى الله عنه was asked why there was no bismillah at the beginning of Surah al-Tawba like how there is bismillah at the beginning of other surahs, he replied that there was some doubt as to this surah being a separate surah, because Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم passed away without explicitly mentioning anything regarding it. This is why Bismillah was not written at the beginning of Surah Taubah. However, since its subject-matter is similar to that of Surah Anfal, it was placed after it and a space for Bismillah has been kept because it is possible that this is a separate surah. (Tirmizi, Vol 2, Pg.139)

Okay as Muhammad (PBUH) passed away saying anything explicitly then what if it is a part of surah Anfal? And who named it Surah Tauba?

Again according to Sahih Bukhari  this surah was revealed to cancel the peace treaty. In it appears the command of killing the mushrikeen (polytheists) and the expression of Allah Ta`ala

Cool!!!! ;D ;D That means you are a convert. Welcome to Islam. May Allah shower His unending blessings upon you, your family and the entire Muslim Ummah. Ameen.

Though my grandfathers, uncles and aunts are fair skinned but I am tan and medium sized. :-[ :-[ :-\ Maybe due to our geographical location and exposure to sunlight. I was also pale when I was in kuwait. :-\ What so ever, Brother at the end of the day we all are brothers irrespective of color, race, tribe and so on. Son of Adam(A.S). ;D :D 8)

Assalamualykum.

Well brother Osama no problem at all if you don't want to share. ;) ;D Its your personal issue. So its up to you whether you want to share or not.  ;D. But I must say you are one of the most open-minded Muslims I have ever met. It also includes some other brothers on this forum. Most people I met give much priority to their cultural background and rarely behave gently with other Muslims. They don't care whether their culture goes against Islam or not. But I don't  like giving priority to racism or culture especially if it goes against Islam. Thanks again brother Osama and other broad-minded brothers on this forum for being kind and gentle and helping me to know Islam. May Allah bless us all. Ameen.

Well all stuffs I have written above are my personal feelings. And I have no problem in sharing my personal life with you brothers. Okay let me make it clear to everyone what's my origin. I am a Pakistani Sunni Muslim. But I'm not local. We are probably the descendants of Persians-Turks like most other Pakistani Muslims with some exceptions. But I'm sure we are not local as my grandfathers and uncles have a tall figure with fair skin which most of the original locals don't have. ;D ;D ;D But they are also my brothers like all other Muslims.
