In Sirat ibn Ishaq. The same guy.

As-Salamu `Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh akhi,

He did not mislead anybody. I think his family and friends all knew that Allah, the Almighty and Sublime, saved him. The Bible was changed like a zillion times. FF Bruce, a former Christian and currently an atheist, as well as one of the biggest Bible scholars, says in every single on of his books that they do not have a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of any of the original manuscripts of the Bible. People mislead people. If Allah, the Most Glorified and Exalted, willed to mislead all the people by doing so, He would have not descended the Glorious Qur'an and mentioned therein that he was not killed. In addition, the Bible contradicts itself with regards to the crucifiction. Those verses do not necessarily have to correspond to the Islamic interpretation.

This is what I sent a Christian while debating with her, "Muslims believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) was never crucified but a look alike of him was instead. Hence, we do not believe that he rose three day later. We believe that God the Almighty raised him up to Himself and before the Day of Judgement, as our Prophet (peace be upon him) prophesized, God will make him reappear and all people would follow one religion. I did not want to make the status too long because many people would not read it but I have more to add. No misinderstandings though, for I swear I love and respect Jesus (peace be upon him) more than you do. Just from reading your message one could differ that you are one that understands in religion and had read the Bible.

Firstly, although it is one of the six pillars of faith for us to believe in all holy books that God had descended, we Muslims do not believe in the Bible we have nowadays as it had been changed and fabricated many times. This is not my opinion by the way. A man named FF Bruce, a Bible scholar, mentions in all of his books: "We do not have a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of any of the original manuscripts of the Bible." Not just the Bible, but the holy book of the Jews, the Torah, as well as all other holy scriptures save the Noble Qur'an have experienced a great number of fabrications and alliterations. Thus, we Muslims only rely on the Noble Qur'an and consider it to be the exact and unchanged Word of God ever since it's revelation. Proof is that ever since the Noble Qur'an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), a large sum of Muslims have memorized the Noble Qur'an, resulting to if anybody were to try and change even a single letter in the Noble Qur'an, it would be clearly noticeable. And in case you were wondering, yes, throughout the years, many have tried and failed to forge and change the Noble Qur'an. Nowadays, approximately 10 million Muslims worldwide know the whole Qur'an by heart. On the other hand, not a single Christian or Jew have memorized their holy scripture. Anyway, back to the subject.

So I will, God willing, give you evidence from the Bible itself that Jesus (peace be upon him) could not have been crucified or killed. Keep in mind that anything I might draw out of the Bible is not necessarily the Muslim perspective. The Noble Qur'an states, "That they (the wrong-doers) said (in boast), 'We killed the Christ Jesus son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah (God)';- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them [or it appeared so unto them], and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not: Nay, Allah (God) raised him up unto Himself; and Allah (God) is Exalted in Power, Wise." [4:157]

The word "crucify" means to put to death by nailing or binding on to a cross or crucifix. In other words, a person must die on the cross to be crucified, if so does not occur, then he was not crucified. A writing that describes the life, ministry, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus (peace be upon him) is called a Gospel. Judas, being the most trusted disciple doing the will of Jesus (peace be upon him), made the Christian Gnostic (Knowledge) Gospel describing the true life of Jesus (peace be upon him) which tell us that Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) was never crucified. However, it was burned by the Church Fathers in the year 325 at the Council of Nicaea and they claimed that Judas was a betrayer. This gospel was rediscovered in the Egyptian town of Naj Hammadi by a peasant in 1945.

If Jesus (peace be upon him) was not crucified and had not died then there could not have been any resurrection. A famous scholar also agreed that there was no evidence of crucifixion in the Gospel. He stated, "If you are looking for texts that depict the act of nailing persons to a cross you will not find any in the Gospels." In addition, according to Gunnar Samuelsson of Gothenburg University, the story of Jesus' execution is based on Christian traditions and artistic illustrations, and not antique texts. This is mentioned in doctoral thesis under the name of "Crucifixion in Antiquity - An Inquiry into the Background of the New Testament Terminology of Crucifixion". "The problem is descriptions of crucifixions are remarkably absent in the antique literature," said Samuelsson in an interview with the UK Daily Telegraph. "The sources where you would expect to find support for the established understanding of the event really don't say anything."
Now let us discuss with regard to proofs from the Bible.

As mentioned before, to be crucified, one must die on the cross. Jesus (peace be upon him) was put on the cross and brought down in only 3 hours. Only 3 hours is almost impossible for any person to die on a cross. Therefore, Jesus (peace be upon him) was alive. In addition, when he was bought down from the cross, his two cross mates were alive proving that Jesus (peace be upon him) was alive too. Also the legs of Jesus (peace be upon him) were not broken. What use is a broken leg to a dead man? Proving that he was alive. The stone was removed and the winding sheets were unwound proving that Jesus (peace be upon him) was alive. Keep in mind that Jesus (peace be upon him) was disguised as a gardener because he was trying to be saved from the Jews. This too indicates that he was alive at the time.

When Mary Magdalene went to touch Jesus (peace be upon him), he said, "Touch me not". He was alive but in pain. The disciples had even heard from Mary Magdalene that Jesus (peace be upon him) was alive. Jesus (peace be upon him) said, "I have not yet ascended unto my father." That means he was not dead. In the upper room Jesus (peace be upon him) showed his hands and feet to prove that he was not a spirit and that he was alive. The disciples were all overjoyed to see him as they thought that he was dead and in the spirit form. There were all happy to see him because he was alive. Jesus (peace be upon him) consumed broiled fish and honeycomb to prove that he was alive. All these points are from the Bible proving that Jesus (peace be upon him) had not been crucified. These are not just random statements taken out of context." :)

Hadiths & Sunna, and Prophet Muhammad's Person / Re: Muhammad and hafsa

It's not mentioned in the Hadith. I found it somewhere else. Muhammad ibn Ishaq said that this is what the verse refers to.

Even the Hadith itself is clearer. May Almighty Allah bless you.

Jazakallahu khayran brother. :)

I researched it and found that it is mentioned in the Sirat of Muhammad ibn Ishaq.

It is know that he is unreliable as he narrates munkar reports on the Messenger of Allah (may Almighty Allah bless him and grant him peace). Read about him on www.wikipedia.org or any other website

As-Salamu `Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh akhi,

A CIA agent even stated that it was an Israeli operation after coming out of prison from being imprisoned for 10 years without trial.

This verse has two stories behind it. One which envloves Maria, which is narrated by the unreliable Muhammad ibn Ishaq, and another completely different story which many agree is the true story behind the verse.

146
No problem brother. :)

That is nearer to prevent you from doing injustice. [The Glorious Qur'an 4:3]

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praises and thanks are due to Allah, Lord of the Universe, and much peace and many blessings of Almighty Allah be upon His Noble and Beloved Messenger, Muhammad, and upon him family, companions and whoever follows them in benevolence up until the Day of Resurrection.

This Hadith, brother, is found in Jami` at-Tirmidhi, and it's English reference is Vol. 1, Book 7, Hadith 1159, and the Arabic reference is Book 8, Hadith 1192. This is the link to it: http://sunnah.com/urn/611900.

With regards to the authenticy of this Hadith; if you read on in Arabic, it says that this Hadith is regarded as Hadith Hasan Gharib. According to the legendary www.wikipedia.org, this is what both, Hasan and Gharib Hadiths are.

Quote
Ḥasan, (حَسَن), linguistically means good and there exist somewhat convergent technical definitions, however, in general, it expresses the categorization of a hadith's authenticity as acceptable for use as a religious evidence, however, not established to the extent of ṣaḥīḥ.

Ibn Hajar defines a hadith that is ḥasan lithatihi, ḥasan in and of itself, with the same definition a ṣaḥīḥ hadith except that the competence of one of its narrators is less than complete, while a hadith that is ḥasan ligharihi, ḥasan due to external factors, is determined to be ḥasan due to corroborating factors, such as numerous chains of narration. He then states that it is comparable to a ṣaḥīḥ hadith in its religious authority. A ḥasan hadith may rise to the level of being ṣaḥīḥ, in spite of its own minor deficiency, due to the support of having numerous chains of narration; in this case that hadith would be ḥasan lithatihi, ḥasan in and of itself, but when coupled with other supporting chains is ṣaḥīḥ ligharihi, ṣaḥīḥ due to external factors

As for Gharib, this is what Wikipedia has to say:

Quote
A gharib, (غَرِيْب), hadith is one conveyed by only one narrator. Al-Tirmidhi's understanding of a gharib hadith, concurs to a certain extent with that of the other traditionists. According to him a hadith may be classified as gharib for one of the following three reasons:

1.Firstly, a hadith may be classified as gharib since it is narrated from one chain only. Al-Tirmidhi mentions as an example a tradition from Hammad ibn Salamah from Abu 'Usharai on the authority of his father who enquired from the Prophet whether the slaughtering of an animal is confined to the gullet and throat. The Prophet replied that stabbing the thigh will also suffice.

2.Secondly, a tradition can be classified as gharib due to an addition in the text, though it will be considered a sound tradition, if that addition is reported by a reliable reporter. The example cited by al-Tirmidhi is a tradition narrated through the chain of Malik (d. 179 A.H.) from Nafi' (d. 117 A.H.) on the authority of Ibn 'Umar (d. 73 A.H.) who stated that the Prophet declared alms-giving at the end of Ramadan obligatory upon every Muslim, male or female, whether a free person or slave from the Muslims. However, this tradition has also been narrated by Ayyub Sakhtiyani and 'Ubaid Allah ibn 'Umar, without the addition "from the Muslims", hence the above mentioned example due to the addition of "from the Muslims" in the text is classified as gharib.

3.Thirdly, a tradition may be declared gharib since it is narrated through various chains of transmitters but having within one of its chains an addition in the isnād.

In conclusion, Almighty Allah alone knows the authenticy of this Hadith, but I think brother Zulfiqarchucknorris gave you a very accurate definition of the Hadith, where he stated that women should be grateful to their husbands (this neither implies that they are the slaves of their husbands and do not have any rights over their husbands [they do in some situations and their husbands have the right over them in others, and my proof is the Glorious Qur'an] nor does it mean that their husbands should not be good and grateful to their wives too and treat them badly), and and may Almighty Allah bless him for that. :)

'In Sha' Allah Ta`ala you find this post beneficial and an answer to your question. Ameen. :)

As-Salamu `Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh akhi,

This Hadith is in Sahih Al Bukhari.

As I mentioned before, Maria was either the wife or concubine of the Messenger of Allah (may Almighty Allah bless him and grant him peace) so it is Islamically allowed in both cases to have sex with her.

The thing is, Prophet Muhammad (may Almighty Allah bless him and grant him peace), despite what the enemies of Islam say, was the most kind hearted and thoughtful man to ever walk the Earth. He knew how Hafsa felt and became fully aware of what he did. It is lawful in Islam to have sex with your wives or concubines, and it is lawful to marry up to four wives as long as you can be fair between them. This is mentioned in the Glorious Qur'an. He loved all his wives and was equal in treating them all. Afterall, he is a human being and no human is perfect and faultless, but he was without a doubt the closest anybody could ever get.

I don't know what the Islamophobes try to point out playing with the wording in most Hadiths and Qur'anic verses and giving people a negative impression on Islam, but as long as you yourself are sure that Allah, the Most Glorified and Exalted, is the One and Unique God, and that Prophet Muhammad (may Almighty Allah bless him and grant him peace) is truly the Messenger of the Almighty, and that Islam is the true path to success and to Paradise, you should not even care about what they say. They try so hard to prove Islam wrong even if it were by a mere letter in the Glorious Qur'an but epically fail, whereas they never even open their eyes and see the 101 faults in the religion they follow, that is if they even do follow one in the first place.
