GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Re: About gambling
« on: February 12, 2013, 02:18:48 PM »
Yes. Backgammon. The point I was trying to make is there are scholars who claim chess is forbidden because they consider it a game of chance that corrupts the moral values of Islam. My own personal opinion, formed by studying the topic, is that a friendly game of chess is okay. We could go deeper into the discussion, but mine is a rational opinion. Not that I am an authority on such things. I love chess, also. I have no one to play it with though.

Please forgive me if this is the incorrect section for me to post this in.

I have not yet watched this, so I cannot speak to it's usefulness, but I figured I should share with you all.

There are many Buddhas too. A Buddha is only a man; a preacher. One could consider any prophet a Buddha, or any Buddha a prophet. The only real issue is the absence of God in the teachings of the various Buddhas.

If you go to Wikipedia you will find they cite 5 (non-Christian) references which supposedly prove that 'Isa was crucified. Someone should refute the claim.

It pleases me to know there are intelligent people here.

Hate achieves nothing.

A Muslim is a Muslim. Stop the sectarian division. You weaken the ummah when you do this.

The Shi'ites are willing to go to war for the ummah. We are all brethren.
Ameen.

The point of this topic was not hate and bash on Shiites, it's just to prove that their beliefs distinguish themselves from the people of Ahl us Sunnah and that some of the things they do can actually take them out of Islam without knowing!

The point of the topic was to expose them!
That is alright, brother. It is a raw issue, because Muslims are murdering other Muslims over this issue.

I did research on this a few years ago. There is a lot of debate, as I'm sure you know. I came to the conclusion that chess is permissible, but not if there is any profiting from it (i.e. to play chess as a social activity is okay, to play for gain is not). Also, like music, if you miss salat because of it, then it becomes an issue. Also, there are Islamic chess sets which you can buy; these chess sets feature chess pieces that do not encourage idolatry (no horses, etc). There is also issue with playing in public.

There is hadith that The Final Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said playing chess is like covering one's hand in the blood of swine.

To clarify, there are reliable sources which determine that chess is always forbidden. But there is also reasoning as to why it is forbidden. Therefore, if you have no problems with, for example, listening to music, then playing chess (as a social activity) can be deemed permissible.

To conclude, there are great scholars who will say chess is always forbidden. If you practice your ijtihad on this matter like I did, you may come to the same conclusion that I did. Allah knows best.

Peace, brother.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Hatred for Muslims.
« on: February 11, 2013, 07:17:05 PM »
In the west (such as U.K, U.S, Canada, Australia, France, Netherlands, Germany, etc) there is a growing hate movement against Muslims and Islam. I'm seeing Jews, Christians, Hindus and atheists coming together in hatred of Islam. They speak ill of The Prophet (ﷺ), they propagate lies about Islam, they encourage violence and hatred against our brothers and sisters.

A new political party was just started here (in Australia) and their purpose is to discriminate against Muslims. They are led by a Christian Pastor of Sri Lankan heritage. He is the son of immigrants, and claims that Islam is not consistent with Australian culture. I find this odd, because Muslim traders came to Australia often, some even remained and merged with the local indigenous people, all before European invasion and occupation. Muslim laborers and navigators where exploited by Europeans and thus where amongst the first European settlers here. Afghan (Muslim) Cameleers (camel-drivers) where brought here to help with early frontier expansion.

Also, Geert Wilders is coming to my city soon to speak. He claims he's not racist, which may be true (he's a Zionist Jew, however), but his supporters here are extremely racist. They speak about a whites-only nation, call people 'rag-heads' and other derogatory terms.

I want to know how others deal with this ignorance and hatred. Please inform me of the best method to fight these jahils.

GENERAL TOPICS | BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS / Re: Can anyone help me do this sin
« on: February 10, 2013, 10:37:02 PM »
Mathematics is my Achilles' heel, unfortunately.

Quote
"cos(θ)" is the x-component of the (cos(θ),sin(θ)) and so is negative as we move from first quadrant to second quadrant.

However sin(θ) is the y component and does NOT change sign. That is, if 0<θ<90, in the first quadrant, θ+90 is in the second quadrant. sin(θ+90) is still positive as is cos(θ).

Quote
sin(90)=1

You can determine this by looking at the graph y=sin(x), or if you want to determine it geometrically: take a right triangle with hypotenuse of length 1. If you increase the angle theta, the opposite side increases, approaching the length of the hypotenuse (1). When theta reaches 90 degrees, you no longer have a triangle, but sin(90) is still 1.

Who benefits most from the ummah's internal fighting? The Zionists and the West. Know your true enemy, brother.

*sigh* you do realize you're doing the same thing Hitler was doing when preparing for the Holocaust. Take a few random people from a certain group and make it look like the whole group is like that. You go to an Islamophobic site they'll show pics of Muslims doing bad stuff. There are only two who will know Shiism best:
Allah
The Shi'a

If we judge their sect, it will only make bad worse for us. Look behind the dollar bill, the Judeo-Christian alliance has already been established and is running the NWO.

Lowkey's sorted this for me i suppose: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=fW7BK4aW7fA&NR=1
Mash'Allah!

I'm certain 9/11 was a Zionist false flag. The official story makes no sense at all. Any Arab or Muslim involvement is unimportant to the larger picture.
