The author has lack of knowledge about Idris a.s. He was a prophet after Adam. If the Osiris the idol was referring to Idris. Then its obviously falsehood spread by Satan levitating the status of Idris from a prophet into God. As prophet Idris was more ancient than the Egyption civilization.

For skeptics, one can only claim Islam being a direct copy of Israeltie religion. Some even say Islam came from a much more ancient religion being offshoot religion of Noah. Nothing pagan.

The only clear pagan influence here would be the author's Hellenistic Christian belief of God manifesting on earth in human form. And later returning to earth to punish non believers with hell and releasing them to taste painful fate of being massacred in Armageddon as promised by the manifested Hellenistic Greek War-god.
