Assalamun alaikum

Jesus Christ says that "I'm not that Messiah which you expect" which indicates that there is another anointed one to come. According to the dead sea scrolls the jews expected not one but two Messiah's.  One Messiah will be priestly and the other one will be a warrior.  You can check it from the below link.

http://www.livius.org/articles/religion/messiah/messiah-9-two-messiahs/?

The Priestly Messiah was fulfilled by Jesus(PBUH) and the warrior Messiah was fulfilled by our beloved Prophet Muhammad.

According to Luke 9:21 Jesus(PBUH) strictly says not to tell anyone that he is the Messiah.

Mark 12, Matthew 22 and Luke 20 say that Messiah is not from David. According to chapter 12 of the book "Unveiling the Messiah in the dead sea scrolls " the Messiah is from Ismael.

Finally coming to the title "Son of Man" is none other than Prophet Muhammad and not Jesus.  You can read more detail from the below link.

Assalamun Alaikum Dawud

They actually did wait for two Messiahs. If you read the prophecy of Daniel 9 it predicts our beloved Prophet Muhammad. He is called the Son of Man.

Even in the New Testament according to Bishop Keldani Jesus Christ used this title as referring to a third person. Christ says that the Son of Man will be coming from the East. In the Bible east is referred to the Arabs. Prophet Muhammad came from the Arab nation.  Christ never claimed that title for himself. Christ maybe the son of man but not the "Son of Man" of Daniel 9 which the jews expected.  Christ says that the Son of Man will come with the league of angels. It is very similar to the prophecy of Daniel 9. So from this we can see that Christ did not use the title for himself since Christ knew very well who the Son of Man is and Christ didn't fulfill the prophecy of Daniel 9.

i have not seen convincing evidence that son of man efers to muhammad

lok this:

Luke 9:22 And he(jesus) said, "The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life."

i dont think son of man refers to muhammad, according t obible it refers to jesus, but this is catastrophic error

why beacuse Jesus is not son of any man, he had no father, while title son of Man is linguistical contradiction if it refers to jesus since he had no father.
that is a problem which christians need to solve.

Assalamun Alaikum dear brother Dawud

You asked a very good question. All your doubts will be answered here in the below site.  Take your time and read it carefully.  And your question regarding that the "Son of Man will suffer many things" is also answered in this site.

There are some places where Jesus Christ used that title to show his human nature. Then we all are Son of Man since we all have parents.  But he was not the Son of Man which will come with the league of angels and destroy the Roman Empire.
