Wife beating anytime and for any reason is never allowed in both Islam and the Bible.  There is however a condition in Noble Verse 4:34 where Allah Almighty allows the husband to beat his wife after the second warning, and that is after he gives her two warnings to stop showing ill-conduct and disloyalty toward him.  There is, however, an opening for interpretation of the word "beat" in the Noble Verse, because the Noble Word could also literally mean "leave".  To avoid the slightest compromise to Islam, and to be in the best fairness I can be in, I have written two articles above regarding this matter and supported the two different meanings with solid proofs from the Glorious Quran and Hadiths.

Muslims permitted to not follow Quran's Law:

Muslims don't necessarily have to resort to violence after the second warning if they choose to "leave", especially in countries where beating is considered a crime.  Not only Allah Almighty forbade Muslims from putting themselves in harm's way, but the Noble Word for "beat" can also mean to "leave".  In countries where even touching your wife during anger would land you in jail, Allah Almighty permitted for His Laws, - and any Law, - that would get you in trouble to be nullified:

[002:173]  He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of God. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then is he guiltless فمن اضطر غير باغ ولاعاد فلا اثم عليه. For God is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.

[002:195] Spend your wealth for the cause of Allah. Do not, by your own doings, put yourself in harm's way ولاتلقوا بايديكم الى التهلكة. Do the right thing. Of course, Allah loves the righteous.
