‏15:14 ولو فتحنا عليهم بابا من السماء فظلوا فيه يعرجون

If Allah Almighty were to allow them to safely ascend to outer space, then because of the sky getting darker and darker for them until it becomes completely black, they would say that their eyes had been blinded (covered up) and that they had been bewitched.

Here is how the sun looks like in space. Notice how black space is around our sun:

Whatever the natural color of the sun is to our normal eye in space, the sun from these pictures is indisputably not as bright as we see it during the day, and it is not the bright yellow glorious star that we see at noon. The space around it is also pitch black. This means that it is also not bright in space. It is relatively very dark in space and it has a different color. Our day-layer, indeed, magnifies its rays. Indeed the day does جلاها.

The following film-clips and pictures further prove that Noble Verse 91:3 is indeed a stunning Miraculous Statement. They indisputably show how the Universe above us is black even during our brightest day on earth:

"By the sun and its radiant light, and the moon that trails (and reflects) its light. By the day that magnifies and glorifies its brightness جلاها. (The Noble Quran, 91:1-5)"

ها = the ها in جلاها is a reference to جلا. Here it is referring to the brightness of the sun being magnified and glorified and revealed.

There are also ample other Noble Verses. The night and the day are two different entities, and they are separate entities from the sun and the moon. They are not created by the sun and the moon. The day, through its own unique characteristics and features, transforms the sun's very dark radiant lights into shinning and very bright lights, on earth.

Now of course, Allah Almighty also did say that a person would suffocate if he were to ascend unprotected and unaided to space. See the next sub-section.

‏6:125 فمن يرد الله ان يهديه يشرح صدره للاسلام ومن يرد ان يضله يجعل صدره ضيقا حرجا كانما يصعد في السماء كذلك يجعل الله الرجس على الذين لايؤمنون

It is important to know that even during the day, when astronauts pass through our Ozone layer into space, they literally move from the light of our world into the complete black-darkness of space. This is a well-known fact. Therefore, Allah Almighty was perfectly accurate when He, the Almighty, called our atmosphere a "day" and "night", as clearly demonstrated in the links below, because the light that we see inside our Ozone layer is completely different from outer space, and it visually doesn't even exist outside our Ozone layer as far as our naked eyes are concerned. That is why Allah Almighty, in the Noble Quran, distinguished between our earth's "day" and the outside space' darkness. That is why Allah Almighty Said in the Noble Quran that "He Created the day and the night and the sun and the moon", in many Noble Verses, and talked about "the day reveals the sun's radiant light to us". In deed, the earth's "day" is unique to it and was created specifically for the earth, - precisely as Allah Almighty demonstrated in the Noble Quran!

And again, as we clearly and indisputably saw above, Allah Almighty made it crystal clear about the outer space being completely dark (they would think they were blinded and bewitched as stated in Noble Verses 15:14-16) and has low air pressure and no oxygen to breath.

In his video-lecture in the following link, Dr. Zaghlool Al-Najjar raised a very important question that unveiled Allah Almighty's Divine Claim and Miracle in Noble Verses 91:1-5: Why did Allah Almighty say that the day reveals the sun's lights? To the ordinary, it is the sun that shines and reveals the light and the day, not the vise versa.

Answer: This would be an inaccurate scientific statement, because the sun rays that we see during the day, which are yellowish-white and bright, are not the same lights and color as in outer space. Inside our ozone layer and near the outer space (right on the borders/ceiling of our Ozone layer), the sun rays are seen in very dark colors. The sun itself is hardly bright in space.

The sun isn't the bright yellow star that we see during daytime, and the space around it is pitch black. This means that it is also not bright in space. It is very dark in space and it has a different color. Our day-layer magnifies its rays.

Furthermore, to the ordinary people 1,500 years ago, the sun used to "go to sleep" as it got darker and changed colors as it approached sunset, and then "wakes up" when it rises back again. To the ordinary people, the sun has full control over the day and it was the sun that revealed the day and its colors, not the vise versa.

Now certainly, never once, did Allah Almighty Say that the sun goes to sleep and/or extinguishes for any night. Furthermore, Allah Almighty said that the sun is a source of light and the moon's light is a reflected light of the sun, which means that the sun is always shining, even during the night, because its light reflects off of the moon during the night, as mentioned in the Noble Quran.

As Dr. Zaghlool pointed out in his video, there is a famous and simple experiment that is done in basic science classes, which is if we bring the rainbow's 7 colors, and shine them on a rotating spherical object, then the colors to that object would eventually all appear as white if the object was rotating fast enough.

Similarly, because our earth rotates around its own axle (the Noble Quran mentioned it [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]), and because the earth's rotation is going fast, - fast enough, - the sun's rays end up looking like yellowish-white for us and not blue or any other color, which makes Allah Almighty's Divine Claims in the Noble Quran 100% perfect when He Said that it is the day that reveals the sun rays for us, and not the sun that reveals the day for us.

The following quotes from scientific sources clearly and indisputably prove the claims above:

The simple answer to this question is that the Sun is yellow. Go outside and see for yourself. (But don't hurt your eyes by looking for a long time (see also Luke 2:52: GOD forgave Jesus).)

For our purpose of determining the temperature of the surface of the Sun, a more precise answer is that the intensity versus wavelength curve for sunlight peaks near 500 nm.

But the question "What color is the Sun?" raises an interesting issue that is more closely related to biology and psychology than to physics. Physically, sunlight is a mixture of photons of different wavelengths. This particular mixture is very close to the color we call white. This is particularly true if we put back the predominantly blue light that is scattered out of a sunbeam as it comes from the Sun and passes through the Earth's atmosphere before it reaches our eyes. Why do we call this color white? Presumably, it is because after many hundreds of millions of years of evolution, our eyes and brains are adapted to viewing things that are illuminated with this particular mixture of photons. Then when humans started giving names to colors, they chose a special name for the special mixture that their eyes and brains were adapted to seeing.

Visible light is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that our eyes can see. Light from the sun or a light bulb may look white, but it is actually a combination of many colors. We can see the different colors of the spectrum by splitting the light with a prism. The spectrum is also visible when you see a rainbow in the sky.

The colors blend continuously into one another. At one end of the spectrum are the reds and oranges. These gradually shade into yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. The colors have different wavelengths, frequencies, and energies. Violet has the shortest wavelength in the visible spectrum. That means it has the highest frequency and energy. What colour is the Sun?

Dr. Zaghlool Al-Najjar said in his book, "من آيات الإعجاز العلمي, السماء, في القرآن الكريم", Page 431, ISBN: 9953-429-81-2, said:

والقمر اذا تلاها أي و بالقمر إذا تبعها في إنارة الأرض بعد غروب الشمس

And the moon when it TALAHA (تلاها) means the moon follows the sun in lighting the earth after sun set.

Furthermore, according to the 10-book Lisan Al-Arab dictionary [1], Book 8, Pages 96-98:

The word (تلاها):

1- It comes after it in order or sequence; sequential.

2- It is reliant and dependent upon it.

Talaha (تلاها) is derived from Tala (تلا).

1- Tala (تلا): To come after it in order or sequence; sequential:

أتلاه الله أطفالاً أي أتبعه أولاداً Atlaahu (أتلاه) Allah children means Allah Almighty gave him children to continue after him.

تلّى فلان صلاته المكتوبة بالتطوُّع أي أتبعها Talla (تلّى) the person his mandatory Prayer voluntarily means that he Prayed voluntary Prayers after it.

تتاليا أي متتابع tataaliya (تتاليا) means sequential.

2- Tala (تلا): To become reliant and dependent upon it:

أتليته سهما: أعطيته إياه ليستجير به Atlaytuhu the arrow means I gave it to him to protect himself with it.

يتلوها ولدها أي يتبعها When her little one or child yatlooha (يتلوها) it means that he is following her every move.

Dhil-Qarnayn literally means "man of two horns"

The moon's S-shaped orbit around earth is shaped like a branch of a date tree, mentioned in the Noble Quran and confirmed by Science! Allah Almighty described the shape of the moon's entire orbit around the earth as a shape of an old and dried-out date tree's branch, also scientifically known and confirmed today as S-shaped. If the Noble Quran says the earth is "egg-shaped" through a Notion, then why couldn't Prophet Muhammad just say it clear in plain Arabic? with detailed proofs demonstrating the miracle of the Word/Notion "dahaha".

Scientists today have proven without the shadow of the doubt that the moon is indeed trying to follow the sun, and is constantly drifting away from earth, and will eventually collide with or be swallowed by the sun.

The Glorious Quran also supports such claim very well and predicts that the sun will eventually swallow the moon:

Important Note: The moon doesn't necessarily have to unite with the sun immediately when the Hour comes. The event is definitely going to happen because Allah Almighty Said so, but the timing of this event might happen later, perhaps after all life on earth ends completely. It could also happen during or before life ends on earth as well. The point is that the timing of the event is only known by Allah Almighty Alone, all Praise and Glory are due to Him Alone.

It is clear that Allah Almighty's Choice of the word TALAHA (تلاها) was not by chance. The word clearly meant that the moon not only sequentially came after the sun, but it is also dependent on the sun! This is 100% true, since the moon orbits the sun while it is also orbiting the earth, and it also reflects the sun's lights at night. Without the sun, our moon would neither be able to orbit our earth, nor shine its reflected light upon it.

There are other words that Allah Almighty could've used to describe the moon's orbit trailing the sun's. But the word (تلاها) is indeed a Miraculous choice, because it encompassed the moon's relationship with the sun. It proved that the moon is not independent from the sun. Like our planet, it is dependent upon it.

2- The moon is reflecting the sun's light according to both the Noble Quran and Science. This makes the moon's function for lighting the night is 100% dependent on the sun. The moon is a revealer of the sun's rays at night, and since Noble Verses 91:1-5 are speaking about the sun rays and the daylight, then it is clear that Noble Verse 91:2 talked about the moon's dependence and reflection of the sun's light, and also its task of lighting the earth following the sun's set.

The fact that the moon does reflect the sun's rays, which is mentioned in the Holy Quran, makes the sun's orbit be first or be the primary one, and the moon's a secondary one.

To me, the bottom line is this: From whatever scientific angle we look at Noble Verse 91:2, we do find it in perfect match with Science. This indeed makes the Choice of the Word TALAHA (تلاها) be a Divinely chosen one and not one that came by chance.

Again, the Noble Quran is filled with scientific statements and notions. These are statements of Allah Almighty describing how He created things on earth and in the Universe. What's most amazing is that all of these scientific statements and notions had been proven to be in perfect agreement with science and our modern-day scientific discoveries. I wanted to let you know that this verse (25:61) uses the word that is more accurately translated as constellations. So right away, you know that this verse is referring to the human perception of the sky! We see constellations and patterns in the sky, so it is our perception. So this verse is adhering to human perception to explain a beautiful phenomena of creation. Next you notice that the Quran says that Allah placed a burning lamp in the sky and a moon. In no way does this mean there is only one burning lamp or one moon, it is just stating that there is a burning lamp and a moon in the sky.

There are a few things that you need to notice about this verse. In no way does this verse say that the sun isn't a star, or that there is only one moon.

Next there is another verse in the Quran that addresses the STARS as being LAMPS, just as the sun is.

Quran 24:35 Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The similitude of His light is as a niche wherein is a lamp. The lamp is in a glass. The glass is as it were a shining star. (This lamp is) kindled from [the oil of] a blessed tree, an olive neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself) though no fire touched it. Light upon light. Allah guideth unto His light whom He will. And Allah speaketh to mankind in allegories, for Allah is Knower of all things.

I would like to add that Allah Almighty created the creatures on earth to live by day and night. Some planets, and even parts on this earth, have very long days cycles and very long nights cycles. Normal life on earth was designed by an equal rotation of the day and night. So by Divine Design, Allah Almighty placed the moon to be our night light, and for the sun to be our glorious star.

Furthermore, Allah Almighty Said the following:

‏91:1 والشمس وضحاها
‏91:2 والقمر اذا تلاها
‏91:3 والنهار اذا جلاها

"By the sun and its radiant light, and the moon that trails (and reflects) its light. By the day that magnifies and glorifies its brightness جلاها. (The Noble Quran, 91:1-5)"

جلا = magnifies and glorifies.

ها = the ها in جلاها is a reference to جلا. Here it is referring to the brightness of the sun being magnified and glorified and revealed.

People were asking the Prophet, peace be upon him, if the sun and the moon were ever going to collide. The people thought that the sun and the moon were both running on one lane or line or orbit or path, and that they're together, and that if one slows down, then the other would catch up to it and they'd ultimately collide. Allah Almighty responded to this nonsense by making it absolutely clear that the sun and the moon are traveling in entirely different orbits, and that they could not catch up to each others and collide. So what the empty anti-Islamics of today try to prove as a scientific blunder in the Holy Quran turns out to be an accurate Scientific Statement and a Scientific Miracle of its time (see also Luke 2:52: GOD forgave Jesus).

Allah Almighty started the Noble Verse with speaking only about the sun and the moon, and the night and the day. But ended it by saying ALL swimming in their independent orbits. This is referring here to all celestial bodies in the Universe. This is further clearly proven in other Noble Verses where Allah Almighty talking about the orbits of the celestial bodies, and how once in space, traveling becomes in orbits. Also, all celestial bodies are يعرجون Yaa'rujoon (traveling in orbits [2] [3] [4] [5]) in space. Dhil = One who has.
قرنين Qarnayn = two horns.
Qarnayn is a dual plural of Qarn (horn).

Can anyone explain the above verses? Why Allah says that the moon and the sun will be joined? As sun is much bigger than the moon , it should swallow it not get joined with it. I'm confused. I have read some articles where they say that through these verses Allah says that Sun will swallow the Moon before the Final Hour. But the verse uses ''JOINED'' not ''SWALLOWED''. Or is it talking about Solar eclipse? If so then the translation might me wrong.

Here are the Noble Verses:

[075:008] And the moon is buried in darkness.
[075:009] And the sun and moon are joined together,-
[075:010] That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?"

I believe this is a Prophecy about a Great Eclipse that will take place. This actually makes sense, since when the Hour Comes, the Universe's orbits' path will turn into a spegetti mess on a massive scale, and all celestial bodies will be colliding violently with each others (See also Isaiah 1:9-17: Yahweh called Israel Sodom, because it spreads evil and is unjust). So it makes sense that:

1- Our atmosphere will change, and hence it will greatly effect our visions, since the sun rays are all magnified and become glorious, as we know them, through our atmosphere as Allah Almighty mentioned clearly in the Glorious Quran:

Lunar Eclipses do blur and permanently damage the eye's cornea:

When watching the lunar eclipse outside, special Eye Shields are required to prevent blindness and/or permanent eye damages, especially to the cornea:

2- Because of the chaos in the orbits, our solar system's orbits will also go in chaos, and hence the sun's and the moon's orbits will cross each others, and an eclipse will occur as a result.

3- When the events in point #2 happen, then the sky will darken and the moon will be buried in darkness.

Wa Alaikum As'salam dear brother,

It is possible that the moon will eventually be swallowed by the sun, along with all of our solar system's celestial bodies. We've seen above already how this Noble Verse is talking about the Great Lunar Eclipse when the Hour Comes. As to the language of the sun and the moon will be joined together, while it is about a lunar eclipse, but it could also be referring to the moon eventually leaving its orbit here around earth and be devoured by the sun. You see, the two immediate celestial bodies to us humans that our naked eyes could see up close and personal, from our view here on earth, are:

1- The moon.
2- The sun.

And they are the most relevant and vital celestial bodies for our life here on earth. So if Allah Almighty spoke in limited language about the sun and the moon, it doesn't limit the event to just them. But to us humans, since these two celestial bodies are what we see in considerable size and clarity from earth here, then they are the most relevant to us. Plus as I said, they are the most relevant and vital to our life here on earth as well. So Allah Almighty putting emphasis on the sun and the moon wouldn't mean that the Noble Verse is limited to just them.

As to the Arabic جمع (joined) in Noble Verse 75:9 above, it could very well be referring to being aligned together according to our view and perspective here on earth. جمع is both a noun and a simple past in Arabic:

1- جمع means a group for a noun.
2- جمع means joined together, came together, summoned together, brought together, put together for a simple past.

The Noble Word would be very appropriate and suitable if Allah Almighty spoke about the Great Lunar Eclipse will happen when the Hour Comes. And we see very clearly from the full context in Noble Verses 75:7-10, in the previous posts above, that Allah Almighty did indeed speak about a Lunar Eclipse will happen when the Hour comes.
