Was Adam 90 feet (60 cubits) tall?

1-  Prophet Muhammad's Sayings:

The Noble Quran and Islam are filled with scientific statements and notions.  These are statements of Allah Almighty describing how He created things on earth and in the Universe.  What's most amazing is that all of these scientific statements and notions had been proven to be in perfect agreement with science and our modern-day scientific discoveries.  Allah Almighty made the Noble Quran be Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) Everlasting Divine Miracle and proof for Prophethood.  The Holy Book certainly stood the test of time 1,500 years ago with Its Claims, Prophecies and Miraculous language eloquence, and it does again and again in our day today with Its overwhelming agreement with science and discoveries that were not known to man 1,500 years ago.

Allah Almighty Said: "We will show them Our signs in the Universe and inside their selves, until it will become quite clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient as regards your Lord that He is a witness over all things?  (The Noble Quran, 41:53)"

With this said, let us look at what Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said about Prophet Adam, peace be upon him:

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:  "Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, created Adam in His own image with His length of sixty cubits, and as He created him He told him to greet that group, and that was a party of angels sitting there, and listen to the response that they give him, for it would form his greeting and that of his offspring. He then went away and said: Peace be upon you! They (the angels) said: May there be peace upon you and the Mercy of Allah, and they made an addition of" Mercy of Allah". So he who would get into Paradise would get in the form of Adam, his length being sixty cubits, then the people who followed him continued to diminish in size up to this day. (Translation of Sahih Muslim, Book 040, Number 6809)"

Narrated Abu Huraira:  The Prophet said, "Allah created Adam, making him 60 cubits tall. When He created him, He said to him, "Go and greet that group of angels, and listen to their reply, for it will be your greeting (salutation) and the greeting (salutations of your offspring." So, Adam said (to the angels), As-Salamu Alaikum (i.e. Peace be upon you). The angels said, "As-salamu Alaika wa Rahmatu-l-lahi" (i.e. Peace and Allah's Mercy be upon you). Thus the angels added to Adam's salutation the expression, 'Wa Rahmatu-l-lahi,' Any person who will enter Paradise will resemble Adam (in appearance and figure). People have been decreasing in stature since Adam's creation.  (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 55, Number 543)"

Narrated Abu Huraira:  Allah's Apostle said, "The first group of people who will enter Paradise, will be glittering like the full moon and those who will follow them, will glitter like the most brilliant star in the sky. They will not urinate, relieve nature, spit, or have any nasal secretions. Their combs will be of gold, and their sweat will smell like musk. The aloes-wood will be used in their centers. Their wives will be houris. All of them will look alike and will resemble their father Adam (in statute), sixty cubits tall."  (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 55, Number 544)"

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:  "The first group of my Ummah to get into Paradise would be like a full moon in the night. Then those who would be next to them; they would be like the most significantly glittering stars in regard to brightness, then after them (others) in ranks. They would neither void excrement, nor pass water, nor suffer from catarrh, nor would they spit. And their combs would be made of gold, and the fuel of their braziers would be aloes and their sweat would be musk and their form would be the form of one single person according to the length of their father sixty cubits tall. This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Ibn Abi Shaiba with a slight variation of wording.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, Book 040, Number 6796)"

Also, Allah Almighty Said in the Noble Quran:

So people were much bigger in size when man was created and kept on decreasing in size.  The earth was also much smaller when Allah Almighty created it, and then Allah Almighty expanded it.  In the following section, we'll see that the Arabic word Dahaha (دحاها) also means made spherical and is moving.

2-  The Scientific Discoveries:

The following scientific proofs demonstrate the Glorious Quran's Divine Miracle, and the Truthfulness of Prophet Muhammad's authentic Sayings (Hadiths):

(a)-  Life began on earth 3.8 billion years ago!  Earth is close to 4.6 billion years old:

After the earth's crust cooled off, and water began to form, and the moon was created from the ring of rocks that was encircling the earth [1 (see minutes 3:20 - 6:20)], life, similar to the one we're in today, is estimated to have begun on earth around 3.8 billion years ago.  Earth's age is estimated to be close to 4.6 billion years old [2 (see minute 1:33 in film)].

Dahaha (دحاها) means expanded, made spherical, balanced, and caused to move.  For ample proofs for this from the 10-Book Encyclopedic Lisan Al-Arab dictionary and many other similar Arabic dictionaries that have meanings and examples of poems, proverbs, Sayings and many other quotations that demonstrate the definitions of a certain word and how it was used by the Arabs of old, that even predate Islam, please visit:

Scientists have proved that the smaller the planet that has so much mass in it, the lesser its gravity, and the taller and bigger its creatures will be.  Earth is estimated that it was only 10% its current size (see minute 1:47 in film).  This is why earth, for instance, had gigantic dinosaurs on it.  It's size was smaller, and hence, its gravity was lesser, and hence, the size of the creatures that were living on it were much larger.

Notice also in the following pictures, and also in the next sub-section below, how earth was much smaller during the age of the Dinosaurs.  Again, it was estimated to have been 10% its current size (see minute 1:47 in film).  Let us further examine, in this sub-section and in sub-section "d" below, how earth was like when it was smaller:

Dinosaurs are estimated to have lived during the ages before the age of Cretaceous.  As shown in the earth-models in the next sub-section below, the ages before the Cretaceous age were the Early Jurassic and Late Jurassic ages.

Earth back then was much smaller in size and much lower in gravity than what it is now.  That is why it had gigantic dinosaurs on it.  The following scientists and scientific proofs further prove this:

Therefore, it should be of no conflict with science to claim that Adam's size, or man's initial size on earth in general, was in the neighborhood of 90 feet tall, or that the first human-race ever walked on earth was around 90 feet tall, give or take 10 to 20 feet between the creatures' differences in heights as we today have people as tall as 7 feet and as short as 2 feet tall.  The reason for this is simply because the planet earth was much smaller than what it is now.

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said that Adam, peace be upon him, was around 90 feet tall when he lived on earth.  This goes in perfect harmony with the fact that earth used to be much much smaller, which no one knew this fact at the time of the Prophet, and that it kept growing as demonstrated in the following sub-section.

  
  
(d)-  The earth was much smaller  (estimated it was only 10% its current size (see minute 1:47 in film)) and kept expanding:

This sub-section is further proven by sub-section b above.  The fact that earth had far larger, taller and heavier creatures on it (dinosaurs and others) proves that it was a much smaller planet.  As scientists confirmed in sub-section b above, the smaller the planet, the lesser its gravity and the larger and taller its creatures will be.

I personally see a very beautiful and miraculous statement by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, peace be upon him, because when we bring his statements above and examine them in light of Allah Almighty's Divine Statements, in the main-section below, about planet earth, we're left with a very beautiful and Scientific Statement that is not only in perfect agreement with science about earth used to be smaller than what it is now, and that since earth was smaller, then the creatures had to be much larger, which clearly explains why earth, for instance, had dinosaurs on it in the past, but we can also use the Prophet's Statements about man's initial height to estimate man's initial average size and weight, and to determine how much force was gravity pulling and how big was earth, and approximately how many millions or billions of years ago did the first man walk on earth.

4-  Giant absurdities in the Bible's fables: 

Let us look at how giants came to existence according to the Bible.  Angelic beings had sex, - most likely raped them, - with daughters of men and bore giants:

Allah Almighty in the Glorious Quran declared that He had expanded the earth, and made it spherical in shape and moving in space.  Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, also declared that mankind were much bigger in size when they were first created and then kept on shrinking/diminishing in size.  Yes indeed, planet earth was much smaller than what it is now (estimated to have been 10% its current size (see minute 1:47 in film)), which explains why creatures like the dinosaurs were much larger than what we are.  And yes indeed, creatures on earth were much larger in size than what they are now.  And the more size earth gained, the more gravity it gained, and hence the lesser our bodies became to balance out with the constant pull of gravity.  Thus, it would be of no surprise to discover that Adam, peace be upon him, was indeed in the neighborhood of 90 feet tall, or that the first human-race ever walked on earth was in the neighborhood of 90 feet tall, give or take 10 to 20 feet in difference, since we today also have ranges of heights among people, where we find humans as tall as 7 feet and even taller, and humans as short as 2 feet and even shorter.

Also, as I suggested above, we can even use the Prophet's Statements, of man's initial height being 60 cubits, to estimate his average size and weight, and to determine how much force was gravity pulling and how big was earth, and approximately how many millions or billions of years ago did the first man walk on earth.

Indeed, all Praise and Glory are due to Allah Almighty Alone for making the Noble Quran and the Divine Inspirations that He Sent to Prophet Muhammad be the Perfect and Everlasting Miracle, for us humans, out of all of His Divine Miracles!  And may Allah Almighty send His Peace, Mercy and Blessings upon our Beloved and Blessed Prophet, Teacher and Role Model, Muhammad.  Ameen.
